the one and only son of, indeed, mothman. though, really, there's not much special about the gatewood family - they were simply insectoids with melanism, who happened to travel to the human world, and get a bit too visible. while his father did indeed have somewhat of a gift for prophecy, sawyer has no such thing. no, sawyer just has a business degree. and what a productive degree it is! sawyer brought the haven plane something it desperately needed: a common currency. for the longest time, each settlement had its own coin, and any currency had to be meticulously weighed upon transaction. not anymore, though! sawyer is the head of the economic department at fogmere, and earned his position in the chair through the invention of the "MothCoin", a largely digital but easy to convert paper-based currency. for almost two decades now, it has been the standard currency of the haven plane, and boy has this guy's life been busy since then.
while you'd think the grind never ends for a guy like him, sawyer actually managed to build up quite the rich personal life. he's a very private person, though, and not even elvira, who may be his closest friend in the office, knows much about his family situation. he's married, he has kids, but that's about all the public knows. and he'd like to keep it that way, thank you very much.
