Gene ([Etc.] Trivia)

More info that would overrun the main page in Gene's trivia section :p

- Says he's Catholic but he was always rotten at learning the bible and staying on the straight and narrow as his parents requested of him-- and his siblings were just as naughty about it so they all kept cover for each other.
   He doesn't really believe in anything if he sits and thinks about it... But he also doesn't care enough to speak up about it to anyone.
   Some part of him also thinks it's important to impart religion onto his daughter, and in fact made Johnny Baby go through becoming Maritza's godfather.

- Despite not liking the whole mafia business, he misses his old hometown and all of his family out there. Plus, it's not like he has a choice in avoiding them-- he visits as often as possible, or when demanded to... [yes, this means he does in fact still work for the mafia]

- His Jersey accent is practically nonexistent, save for a few phrases/sayings not exactly used elsewhere that give away his 'background'.

- Kind of a nerd but nobody ever believes him. His interests don't really match up with the conventions of those times-- he gravitates toward sciences.
   that being said, he does a good job blending in with 'the fellas' because he's so amicable and open to any line of conversation lol. he prefers people to arrive at their own assumptions... especially if those assumptions are kindly toward his image, hah.

- Is always torn between telling Maritza every single thing so she's prepared for whatever life will throw at her, and also sheltering her and lying where he can. Usually ends up compromising where HIS secrets are concerned..... he's so weak to keeping her safe and happy ;;;;;;;;

- Never thought to ask Maritza's mother to come back and marry him so they can 'raise her right'. Maritza deserves a better mom lolllllll. Besides, he feel he does a good enough job taking care of his baby!!!

- Would love to have more children in a better environment (read: with another parental figure helping him) someday. [canonly, this does not happen, but...]

- Though he likes to eat, he prefers smoking more, and will often forgo meals if he gets caught up in a nice smoke break.
   his genetics are predisposed to keeping him SUPER lean and skinny, so you know when he does eat.... he eats a little too good. 

- Related to the above point, he can cook very well. He doesn't flaunt it too often, on account of being busy, but if Maritza demands it... He'll find time...
   And... S-sometimes he gets a craving for real good food so he indulges himself from time to time. 💦 BUT ONLY SOMETIMES!! (eyes pots and pans longingly)

- He has a really nice house that his family bought for him... Of course it's in an expensive af suburban area near downtown so people constantly question how he came into that kind of money on all of his low-paying jobs... (He'll never tell 😉)

- Though he doesn't seem the type, he does kind of rely on drinking and smoking to help stay calm and collected. He tries not to rely on it heavily but if he purposely goes out of his way to avoid recreational drinking+smoking he just misses it that much more. He'll try not to get tetchy around anyone during those weak moments but no one's perfect!

- He refuses to tell anyone his middle name, as his parents had grown a wild hair in naming him, wanting something a little more anglo-sounding (albeit not entirely as american as they hoped). He is VERY embarrassed about it and, if he can help it, he says he's the same as his older brother, Joey, and was not given a middle name. (It's 'Harvin'. shhh, don't tell him I told you guys 😉)
