Personality: Beo is a soft-spoken young gentleman who absolutely hates conflict in any form.  He is super affectionate and loves feeling emotionally connected to people, that being said, he’s a huge softie, and he essentially just wants to cuddle up with a friend or loved one on the couch and watch YouTube videos of puppies.  He does not clinically have any sort of anxiety, but he is rather introverted and doesn’t get out very much.  When he does, he enjoys spending time with small groups of close friends to play tabletop games or go out for walks to explore new places.  Despite being rather shy and pretty naive, he is surprising adventurous in wanting to discover everything the world has to offer, and he is generally a pretty happy person.  I’d best be able to describe him as that cool nerdy substitute teacher that everyone loves and wishes they worked full-time.

Relationships

Father: Eldan

Relationship with them: Super close.  Beo got almost every single one of his interests from his father.

Mother: Lynn

Relationship with them: While they may not be as close as he is with his father, they still both love each other like a parent loves their child.

Sibling: Avery (they’re older than Beo by a few years)

Relationship with them: They don’t share a lot of common interests, but they get along very well!  Whenever they meet up they always end up talking for hours over something one of them is interested in and they try to coax the other into trying it out for themself.  While they don’t always have the same opinions on things, they truly do just enjoy each other’s company.

Brother: Cas (older by a year)

Relationship with them: While Cas and Beo are probably even farther apart in terms of common interests, they get along extremely well!  They never argue, and they can talk for hours about almost anything.  In terms of personality, Beo and Cas are best friends.

Friends: Pistol, Onyx, Peaks, Kenya, Kyra, Owen

Relationship with them: When they get together, they usually spend their time playing D&D, MarioKart, Minecraft, Pokémon, or literally any other multiplayer game that catches their interest.  They also enjoy going on walks at night in the park while telling ghost stories, and going to Pistol’s house to swim in the pool.  Basically, they do everything together. [IMG=E9M]

Other friends: Griffin (Chicken), Ash, and Hilda (as well as their shadows- Glyph, Aubree, and Hannah)

Relationship with them: Even though Beo still considers these people his friends, they are in the “Other friends” category simply because his relationship with them is very different than with his first group of friends.  All four of them met over their common “issue” of being a seer- a name known by the other souls that means that they, as mortals, are able to see the other souls (and also ghosts).  Beo found both Chicken and Ash by complete accident, but they get along decently well, and enjoy each other’s company.

Acquaintances: Belmont

Relationship with them: Their relationship is okay...?  Belmont is a quasi-real shadow creature (explained in the backstory) who insists that they are not at all friends.  Despite that though, they get along fine.  In fact, Belmont is probably one of the more loyal shadows out there, no matter how much he tries to deny it.

Significant Other: Wolfie

Relationship with them: They used to just be friends, but Beo had very quickly developed feelings for her.  It was only until recently that he confessed to her, and now they’re dating! (Future wife)

Children: Scarlet and Sean

Relationship with them: (They don’t actually exist as of yet in this timeline, but once Beo and Wolfie get married they will be!) Beo gets along wonderfully with Scarlet (she’s secretly his favorite), and he and his son Sean have a bit of a strained relationship, so Wolfie’s usually the one who has to deal with him.  Overall though, Beo loves his children to death and would do anything for them if he could.

Rivals: Pistol

Relationship with them: They have a lighthearted rivalry over which of them is the best wizard in their party and purposeful make their characters argue to get them into funny situations.

Backstory: Beo was born in Arizona, but was moved around a lot.  This meant that while he was generally okay with meeting new people, he never really got the opportunity to establish friendships at a young age.  Later on in life however when his parents both found well-paying jobs, they decided to move one last time to Utah, and this time they would stay there.  Once or twice they would move houses, but they never left town and so Beo was finally able to form long-term relationships with kids his age when he was in late elementary school.  However, due to the fact that he had spent most of his time and gotten most of his interests from his father, he found it a bit difficult to actually click with anyone until he decided to transfer schools during his last two years of junior high.  This is where he met all his friends he hangs out with today, and life is good.  He can still be a bit awkward socially, and his interests are still a little weird, but when he can’t relate with one of his friends over something, he still enjoys every second of their company.

He was in his second year of high school when he suddenly got really sick and missed a lot of school, so much so that the stress of having to make up so much work really wore him down, and he ultimately decided to drop out of public school altogether.  Instead he did online school, and the work flow was a lot easier for him to handle, and he took it for the rest of his highschool years.  When graduation rolled around, he decided that he wanted to enroll in an art school in London, and he was accepted (he was 19 at the time).  And that is when he met Wolfie.  Beo couldn’t afford on-campus housing at the time and didn’t want to get a lot of help from his parents, so he found a cheap apartment complex around 2 miles away from his school that was in his price range instead.  Wolfie was his neighbor’s roommate, and she was 17.  Beo thought she was cute, but she was a bit skittish when they first met and Beo was nervous to make much conversation, often having a hard time finding the right moment to start.  Kyra was also a neighbor of his, and despite the slight language barrier between them with her being deaf, they became friends and eventually motivated him enough to start talking to Wolfie.  Much to his surprise, they clicked very quickly despite not being alike in many ways at all.  He learned that she was extremely introverted when it came to outsiders, but as he got to know her more they became very close friends and he really grew to enjoy her company.  Soon afterwards, however, things started to become very strange for him.

One night, Beo was working on a project in the school and lost track of time.  The school was closing up for the night, and he had to pack up his stuff to leave.  He was still too paranoid to use an Uber or a Taxi at that hour, so he decided that he would just walk back to his off-campus apartment that was about 2 miles away instead.  The sky was strangely dark out that night, and the streets were a lot more vacant than usual.  The area around his home was often very devoid of outsiders for reasons unknown to him, but this particular night had him looking over his shoulder.  To calm himself down on his way back, he took out his phone and started to text Wolfie.  He told her that he has the feeling that there’s somebody following him, and she calls him so that he can feel safer, and so that she can hear if something bad actually does happen.  Beo clears the first mile without incident, when suddenly he sees a dark figure standing in an alleyway staring at him.  He stares back for a few moments, looks away, and when he looks back, the figure is gone.  He explains all this to Wolfie, and Wolfie encourages him to get home as fast as possible.  This is when he passes out.  When he woke up, he was in a hospital bed and his head was bandaged up (Wolfie had called 911 when she heard him collapse and not respond).  Luckily there was no severe damage, but his head is throbbing, and he is told that that is typical of a concussion.  As time goes on, the headache never leaves, and no matter what medicine he takes and no matter which doctor he visits, he realizes that it’s going to be tougher to shake off than he first thought.  Classes became harder for him to focus on because of this, and so he decides to seek out some alternative doctors instead (Kyra’s suggestion) to see if they could help in any way.  On his way back home one night, he gets lost and stumbles into a dodgy part of town.  There, he finds a small shop with a board outside that claims that their treatment can heal all wounds; mental and physical.  Feeling desperate, he goes inside.

There, he is greeted by a hooded sphinx cat woman who offers him a seat.  He tells her what had happened, and she gets a grim look on her face.  She tells him that something happened to him that cannot be undone- that someone has triggered something inside of him that his brain is not willing to comprehend, and so it is essentially exhausted all of the time.  He is understandably skeptical, but she tells him that in his case, she will be able to heal him of his physical pain at the cost of some unwelcome side effects, noting that it will not require any medication, just a “blessing”.  He reluctantly agrees, and she places her paws on his head.  Within a moment, everything goes white, and he feels a pain in his head like he was just shot.  He manages to stay conscious, but when the light fades, he realizes that he is surrounded by shadowy figures with glowing white eyes.  He begins to freak out, but the woman (whose name is Hilda) sits him down and explains to him what is happening.

Basically, the person who attacked him somehow triggered a part of his brain that is able to see what is known as people’s second soul (also known as a shadow), which is essentially a ghost that does not have a body, but is attached to every individual alive today, including himself.  She explained that this also includes spirits whose bodies have died, but have chosen to remain on earth for their own reasons (usually to watch over loved ones).  Hilda says that hers was activated at a very young age, so she knew what was going on as soon as he had described what happened.  Beo is appalled, and asks if there is any way to reverse what she did, and Hilda just responds with “they cannot be unseen.”

Today, Beo is just trying to cope with everything.  He’s starting to get used to seeing these spirits, and has even gotten to know his own (who’s name is Belmont) and while he isn’t entire comfortable with this yet, he’s getting better.
