Ada Chalsey

30ish? | 5'9" | ???

Personality

Hot-headed and Determined best describes Chalsey in general. She's incredibly intelligent, yet impatient, wanting the answers right now if she can find them. Her wit and charisma also helps with getting information she needs from people. Whenever it's playing good cop or bad cop, she can play the role and play it well. Although... She's quite two-faced. On one hand, she's friendly and determined to solve the case, on the other... she's conniving and cunning. Being a double agent for the mob kind of demands that: Else the PD would find out fairly quickly. She's also quite ruthless, more than willing to get her hands dirty to keep anyone from learning the truth about those cold cases or her involvement in some shady activities.

Origin:

Detective Ada Chalsey was created by Dr. Ava Chalsey, to carry on her legacy of innovation and experimentation after the soul split was complete (and to watch over her creations). She gained most of the memories of the original, however she was an outside perspective, so rather than understanding exactly Ava's intentions, she was quite shocked at what her "sister" was doing. Once it was completed and Ava was completely annihilated, Ada abandoned the science angle her creator tried to pigeon-hole her into, finding it completely insane. So, she opted to attend a police academy and become a detective, even changing her name ever so slightly to signify that she was not the same person as her creator (changing the "v" in her name to a "d").

She hit a few snags, however. She was left with fuck all in Ava's will, so she basically was bordering on poverty due to a lack of finances. But...she remembered something. Her creator had some ties to the mob, and Ada's memories were a copy of Ava's... She knew exactly where the mob was. So, she went to them for some help. Initially mistaken for her original, she was welcomed back in, some of the mobsters talking about how they kinda wondered where she went, complimenting the new outfit and whatnot. When she met up with Malifer, he ended up calling her Ava, and mentioning how fascinating it was for her to return at such an hour: Last he heard, she was off to finish up her final experiment.

Ada had to clarify at this point that she was not Ava Chalsey, but rather a clone of the original intended to continue her legacy of mad science, which she wanted no part of. Malifer's attention peaked, and he asked for a name, if it were not the same. She told him it was Ada Chalsey, a detective in training who was admittingly down on her luck and knew this place could help her out in some way shape or form. Malifer gave her an offer: They needed someone who could work well with the PD, gain their trust and all that...That could also cover up Mob activity and direct the mob towards anyone who was getting too close to discovering the truth. And he believed she would work perfectly. He and his mob would give her a place, a small office to work from, with a hidden room off to the side she could use to keep captives or to sleep, something to get her foot in the door...and from there, she was expected to help the mob by covering their asses in the cases themselves, in any way she could think of.

She agreed, and from there the deal was sealed. As a bonus, she also had mob protection in case someone found out Chalsey was working with them and tried to kill or kidnap her for questioning. Through her diligent work (and bringing some red herrings to keep the PD distracted), she both managed to solve major cases...and make sure the mobster ones turned cold.

Other:

-As a clone, her aging is kind of weird. Almost like it's somewhat stuck.

-Has definitely directly and indirectly killed a lot of journalists who stuck their noses too far into the cases.
