Bella Noche

In her original life she was a streetwalker in 19th century Paris. She grew up poor and saw no other means of getting money. But she always wished to have more, to escape this life. And eventually she did.

On a dark and stormy night, she recieved an unusual customer into her bordello. Pale and strange, he seemed to show no interest in her services. He seemed infatuated with her, nonetheless, in his own peculiar way. He would always pay her full price, and come in, only to spend the whole time reading, or making small talk, or asking her to play chess. Mostly he would just read, though.

Eventually he made an overture. He was, so he said, a military man of some standing, Colonel James Ravensmore, and he should like to deliver her into a better life, if she should let him. And so she did, and so he did. They had something of a romance after that point, though he was still his peculiar self. Eventually they were wed, and he divulged a second secret. He was a vampire and he should like to deliver her into unlife, if she would let him.

And so she did, and so he did.

Her eventual parting with James was both gradual and relatively painless. The Colonel was not the kind of man to keep a grudge. He still is not. But after their parting, she wanted a way to support herself without his financial help. Her old profession would not do, but there was a new option, a way to make the necessities of her new existence profitable. The career of an assassin.

She had a number of other exploits and relationships in that time. One of the more consequential being with an antebellum Virginian cotton baroness by the name of Cathereine Silk. She granted Catherine vampiric immortality herself, and the two, while they eventually separated remained friends, though Catherine's waspish attitude makes it feel often more like a friendship of obligation than one of legitimate connection.

Life was largely standard for her, the same routines and the same short relationships, until, in 1973, she met a certain very special someone. While working with the Chicago mob, she met an up and coming enforcer by the name of Alice Diaz. The two hit it off immediately, Bella being reminded of her own impoverished past, though the nature of her illegal profession was vastly different, and Alice being attracted, as so many before her, by Bella's stylish charms.

The two dated for some time, before becoming, for lack of a better term, an official thing, Alice being even more enamored with Bella's true, somewhat dorky nature, and Bella moving well past simple pity and relatability and growing equally enamored with Alice's sharp wit and cool head. They have been together ever since.

In the summer of 2012, a connection of a very different sort blossomed when she went to the small Oregon town of Bedford Falls on vacation, meeting the strange child-monster that lives in the areas woods, calling herself Lizzie. The two quickly developed a sisterly bond, though not without her convincing Lizzie that she did not intend to encroach on her territory. The two would meet again in 2014 when Bella was sent to the area again on more... official business.
