The Lore Hunter (nicknamed Lore) is an inter-dimensional Traveler trying to get back home.

A paranoid and anxiety-ridden soul, Lore is not one for brash action or letting his guard down. Rather, he prides himself on coming up with plans before entering combat, and outwitting opponents rather than overpowering them. He hates fighting head on, as he knows he'd lose in a confrontation like that. He keeps a mostly tight lip on his origins and his travels so far, for reasons really known only to him. While he appears to be more of a kinder and selfless soul on the surface, he is deep down a selfish bastard who isn't afraid to do what he must to survive in a dire situation, your survival be damned.

Not to mention, due to his travels, he's had nightmares and panic attacks rather frequently, and looks over his shoulder frequently. To add to that, he seems to have some issues with depression and self-worth, often trying to stay in the background, or never really standing up for himself and letting others walk all over him. The only thing driving him forward is the lingering hope he can return home to his family and forget about all of this, but some rumored that this hope is quickly dwindling as he explores more dimensions and finds nothing close to his home...

Origin: Not much is really known about Lore. That isn't to say there isn't any records: However, aside from his journal those records are far too scattered out to pinpoint anything consistent about him (some paint him as a warmonger, some show he is more of an innocent saint). He has let on a few things about his past, luckily, those being:

  • At some point, he wished to travel beyond. He researched the matter, and found out about an entity named Nightshade. After performing her ritual and summoning her, they made a deal.
  • He realized too late how much of a mistake that was, as he was now lost in the seemingly endless world of dimensions.
  • He learned of what happened to those who signed Nightshade's second contract, and vowed to find his home on his own.
  • He's pissed off a fair share of tyrants, some more threatening to his life than others. One in particular, The Hive King, has been particularly persistent in trying to capture Lore.
Abilities: He only has three powers of his own to boot (with a spell he got as part of a contract), but they are still pretty powerful in his hands.
  • Psychic Blast: He can fire a blast of psychic energy, using his staff (or whatever weapon he has on hand) as a medium to concentrate that energy. Being hit by this blast causes mild disorientation and headaches (if blast was not charged), but being hit by more blasts or a charged blast intensifies those side effects into major dizziness and even nausea. He can charge the blast for a max of a minute, and once he starts charging he can't cancel the blast: he has to fire it, even if he misses.
  • Hypnosis: Lore's main weapon of choice, he can hypnotize any sentient entity and make them do one favor for him. There are some restrictions to his power, however:
    • He has to make eye contact with the victim for the spell to work.
    • Victims can overcome the spell with enough willpower.
    • Consecutive Hypnosis attempts on the same entity carry a higher chance of failing, as the entity would require less willpower to break free of the trance.
  • Psychic Outburst: The final weapon in Lore's arsenal, it is the most powerful but yet he has the least control over when he can use it. When he is experiencing an intense amount of adrenaline, his psychic energy will build up quickly in his hands, which he will discharge on the threat by touching them. The sheer intensity of the psychic energy is enough to make a person's head explode. He hates using this, as he's not one to hurt someone (much less kill) if he can help it. Plus, it comes with a blow-back price of making Lore dizzy and exhausted, meaning he'd likely pass out after using this ability.
  • The Spell: A spell he gained from his contract with Nightshade, he can move from one dimension to the next if he draws out the spell on the ground (no specifics on how he can do this, so if desperate blood is an option). The spell has a week cool down (in the dimension's time), meaning Lore just can't jump willy-nilly between dimensions.
Basics:

5'5" | 20s? | 110 lbs. | ???

Other:

  • Has a strong fear of Giants, bugs, Giant bugs, and the idea of never returning home. Aging doesn't quite scare him, as he's relatively in his prime, but that could change as time goes on....
  • Amassed an insane amount of survival and medical skills.
    • With Medical, it's very extensive, to the point he can perform surgery on a serious injury with limited resources.
  • He knows how to use many weapons, and can learn quickly how to use unknown weapons.
  • Speaking of knowledge, he also knows how to operate lots of odd machinery, and can learn quick.
  • Knows several languages (even dead ones), which help him understand what is being said.
  • …and pointless trivia. Boy he has a lot of that. His pet peeve seems to be to ask someone about a pointless trivia fact if they claim they're the smartest person around.
  • Bi-romantic, but Straight sexually. He'd love to eventually start a family of his own, but priorities dictate that he finds his home first before he does anything else.
  • Scarf is magically enchanted to be indestructible and is soft enough to be used as a pillow.
  • Has been confirmed to have visited Dimensions 000000 (The Nothing), 680184 (A Tyrant's Domain), 800803 (Dark Dimension), 287959 ("NEW JERSEY"), 123567 (SushiVerse Sacramento)
    • Especially that last one: He's been confirmed to have been there at several different time intervals, having smuggled a certain police chief's parents into the dimension and also being a member of the mafia at one point.

  • Real name is Kleon Hunter
  • In Lore's home dimension (Dimension 288284), it was common to give people you hated nicknames, as it was a form of disrespect to them, a tradition Lore seems to have kept.
    • That being said, his own name is only a nickname, which implies that he hates himself.
    • The reason he hates himself? He's...had to do some questionable things to ensure he'd make it another day, things he's not proud of doing, but knew he had to do, otherwise he would be dead...which stung when he had to do it, and still haunts him to this day. Not to mention he kicks himself mentally for failing to read the fine print for Nightshade's contract, which has doomed him to this life.
    • He's also pretty sure he's a few steps away from going insane and hurting people mindlessly, which is likely why despite being numbed to seeing murder before his very eyes he will never actually commit the act if he can help it.
