Show Me Your Criminals

Posted 6 years, 11 months ago (Edited 5 years, 2 months ago) by Lonestarcelt

From the seediest back alleys to the opulent pent houses and offices of the most lavish towers to even the house next door to behind the highest offices of some governments or companies. There's one common element that binds all these places together and it's as much a part of human nature as anything else. Crime. From things as simple as stealing food to survive to some crimes which could be considered especially heinous. From the most petty misdemeanors to the vicious felonies. Criminals exist in all strata of daily life. Some have been caught and others are still at large. That's where this thread comes into play. This thread is for criminals of all shapes and forms. From all settings from the most fantastical, the most futuristic, the most contemporary? It doesn't matter. If you have yourself a character who is or was a criminal in some shape or form. Have they been caught for shop lifting and had to pay a fine? Assassinated a head of state and is on the run? Committed some unspeakable act and is now waiting on death row...or worse? Perhaps they were never caught at all? This is the thread for them.

There are some rules however

  1. Given the nature of this thread there is a very real chance some seriously sensitive topics might come up? While this thread won't be marked as mature, as not all crimes might be particularly nasty, be smart in what you talk about and how. For example. For sensitive subjects please black out the text like this. Example text. Along with that. This thread will be less to recount the vivid graphic details of the crime and more simply letting people know what they did. For example. You can have a character that maybe be a serial killer. Try to frame it as just that. Saying what they are and maybe alluding to some of their crimes but keep any actual descriptions vague and PG-13 at worse. We don't need to know about particularly graphic details of a person's crimes.
  2. Try not to romanticize what your character did if they did something particularly awful. By which, I mean, if say your character is a war criminal don't try to describe their crimes in a good light for example. There are exceptions to this rule such as the aforementioned stealing to eat but things such as war crimes, sexual assault, serial murder, or crimes against children? Don't frame those things as good or noble.
  3. You can either post your characters one at a time or as a group in an OOC post. Post options are perfectly valid. Just try not to dominate an entire page with your characters. So if you are posting a few on their own? Try to only do three at a time and let more people post in the interim before you go back to going one at a time.

  4. Be respectful and don't cause drama. If someone breaks these rules please let me know and I or the admins will handle the situation.

Now that that's out of the way? Let's bring out the line-up.

Current Ban List:

  • None, let's keep it that way.
 Mercy "Knife" Splatter GraveOutlaw

Mercy is a one parson gang. She loiters on the law and cuts people up to protect her terf. She used to be white but dyed her fluff red because it would look stained otherwise.

Lester Nosada TheLadyAnatola

I was almost going to skip over Lester because I'm like "he's not a criminal, he's a good boy!" but then I remembered, oh wait, in his story he's fighting an oppressive empire, so he's breaking all of their laws. XD Under any other circumstance he'd be a model citizen, but he's working with "the good guy team" to bring down this empire. So they're getting into battles with guards, destroying their forts and other bases, stealing their resources, basically anything to give them rebels an advantage. Lester starts out just being a support unit and healing and such, but by the end he's learned enough magic to blast that imperial palace like the other mages. The same rule applies to his healing mentor, Neuman, who would be a totally chill and peaceful cleric if the empire didn't totally kill his parents and scatter his order into hiding. So he's helping the rebel cause with his healing and other magic skills.

Now, if you want a criminal no matter the circumstance, look no further than Lester's older brother, Slamen. There's pretty much nothing this thief wouldn't steal. XP And he's also fighting the imperial scum, but even if he wasn't, he'd still be a thief. He probably just wouldn't have as much fun, since stealing the pants right off of imperial soldiers is just too enjoyable.

Yevgeniy Rubicelle kingozma

let's be honest - treason is technically a crime. conspiracy is technically a crime.

but what's the bigger crime? conspiring against your own fellow kings and planning treasonous acts, or being said fellow kings, who banished him to another dimension because he was going to out one of them as a pedophilic abuser?

Reba Fae Zazozaliad

Reba here is your run of the mill smash and grab robber - but, uh, with her own small army of skeletons helping. That's one way to make necromancy practical in modern living, alright...

Lylaea Electrica TheLadyAnatola

She doesn't do it all the time, but sometimes Lylaea likes to steal from tourists just because it's so easy and amusing. She's not really in any need for money or anything, but the whole town she's from is full of thieves, so it's just part of the culture to want to take things from outsiders. It's a wonder they still get any tourists, but they keep rolling in regardless.

Mara Magentis TheLadyAnatola

Mara tries her best to be good when she can, but sometimes things just don't work out. She has a horrible tendency to not be able to pay restaurant bills, mostly because she's always with Mac and he eats way too much, so they both end up getting into trouble with that without really meaning to. But of course, both of them are super-special-good-guy-protagonists, so they usually end up saving the day and earning a few passes when they overstretch the budget. ^^; No one would probably call them criminals per se, but they make mistakes sometimes too.

Mara in particular probably gets into way more trouble with taking fights a little too far (usually not in the sense of severely injuring people, but more of whoops-we-smashed-someone's-fence-gotta-pay-for-that-property-damage), speeding when she's driving and usually getting into high speed chases to avoid getting a ticket, or other things of that nature. She doesn't try to break the law or whatever, but it happens sometimes. XD

Devryl "The Devil" Aztrex

Well Dev is the leader of a gang known as the Hellions, in what's known as the "Outskirts" of the city he lives in in his world. Which is basically like the slums, but more brutal. Full of gangs and criminals. So yes, he's done his fair share of killing, thieving, etc. Dev thinks the city laws are a pile of shit, so of course he does his best not to follow them hahaha
But short of killing everyone in the Outskirts, the city can do nothing about the people living there. Except give them as little food as possible and hope they starve to death or kill each other. So it goes unmonitored for the most part. And Devryl and his gang is widely known through the Outskirts and the city itself for how brutal and cruel they can be.

Maranda TheLadyAnatola

Maranda, her sister Mini, and their "junior team member" Bebe are all ninjas/secret agents of sorts who specialize in all sorts of spying, thievery, espionage, assassinations, etc. They're not necessarily "bad guys" since they do work for both good and sketchy causes. They have a sense of morality to a degree, but they're loyal to a boss who's more morally ambiguous. So they're only interested in getting the job done regardless of legality.

Pâmela 🚨 Lucie

Pamela here is Guilty of regicide

She and the other 11 generals lead the south in the civil war and freed the people from a greedy king. Although the royal family still reign in the North, the South has been reconstituted into a oligocracy. The 12 regions are governed by the Council of Generals along with the Ethel family (the former king's right hand), but no one can really understand why a family with generations of loyalty for the king can still have so much power in the South. Lol

Anywayssss, regicide, treason, torture, human trafficking (ok don't think much into it she just helps ppl from the North to cross the Royal Barred to the South)

 💉 Sawyer 💉 Swifty-wish

serial killer; stalks people (that hes capable of capturing) to eventually cornering them and anesthetizing them. he then takes the victim to a warehouse where they are strapped to a medical table and tortured with a variety of weapons... he usually plays music and hums or sings along during the act.
his favorite weapon is ironically an amputation knife. scalpels are common too.

no real motive other than he enjoys it. it's also probably a coping method for his past (which involved a lab accident, but also not-the-best of parents even earlier)

sunshower

Technically not a criminal yet uncovered a conspiracy that made him an enemy of the state.

Emery was a pilot of the Galactic Federation until a patrol in a remote sector of space went awry that killed most of his squadron. While en-route encountered a rogue bio-weapon capable of space distortion, which made attacking or evading it near impossible. (In his universe, bio-weapons are prohibited by law because of the unethical methods to create one. A byproduct of biology and technology funded in the millions to trillions. Unpredictable though generally hostile.) A few including himself manage to escape alive, but when they return to base and inform the commanding officer are suddenly the targets of a manhunt. Emery cheated death twice that day unlike his remaining squadron who were gunned down. It is thanks to Beaufort, an autonomous fighter-class ship, who responds to his distress signal by transforming into its robot form that he did. Long story short, Emery is being hunted by former comrades therefore changes his identity and appearance. (Originally his hair was longer styled in a low ponytail.) He works for a pirate brigade as their hired gun and technician.

So, uh, yeah... he is a criminal though not by choice!
