Characters more well-liked than you expected?

this boy right here!! when i asked a bunch of my friends which oc of mine was their favorite, they all chose peter. he started off as a one-dimensional, insufferable jerk since i was bad at developing ocs at the time. but now, he's still a jerk, but his antics are a bit more palatable. that's mostly because i gave him a better side to himself (also i made him p cute skdsdkjk). he's a guy that loves to mess around with people, but he's also a good guy under all that. i even ship him w/ one of my friend's ocs!!

Frequency is another one that surprises me. It's not a character with a setting or anything; it's just a design I created for a funny robot art battle with a friend that was kind of jokingly based on my aesthetic and interests, so I don't think of the design as something well-polished or "good," but people often pick it as their favorite of my characters or the most iconic, and I think that's interesting?

I do like it and I want to draw it again sometime, but it's one of my very few characters who don't have a story.

Mayu has gotten a lot more favorites than i thought he would, especially since he's a blank vent character, but i guess maybe people are interested in the idea of him?

shiro was originally kind of a joke oc i made to use as kind of a plot device for something i was wanting to write, who's name and design were kind of afterthoughts compared to my other characters (shiro's name was originally taken off of behindthename with very little forethought whereas a lot of my ocs had names with relevant meanings, and he only has green in his color scheme because none of my other ocs did). i ended up using him in a roleplay where he quickly became very well-liked and he's since then ended up growing on me and becoming my favorite oc, the 1 character i've kept for the longest amount of time, *and* my most developed character by far. i have a hard time developing my other characters nowadays bc i'm always preoccupied with shiro knadsgkndlg

This lil guy? I made 'im a long time ago. He was original a girl named Cath. Never was able to get rid of him (every couple of years I would completely revamp myself and either toss or majority edit my characters), so, I revamped his design a little. Nothing major, just new outfit (kept the old one anyway) and actually made a set fur pattern. Same role and personality. A little bit ago he got suddenly bombarded with faves and I'm still not really sure why! I feel like someone had promo'd him because I would get waves of faves and I know he wasn't on the random section TH has? x-x). The sudden attention freaked me out a lil LMAO

Don't get me wrong, I love him a lot too, but whoa, I'm surprised how much people seem to like Harahel... Seriously, in these past 24 hours I've posted like... 4 times in those "fave OC/steal an OC from the person above" and Hara was picked... 4 times. Lmao why, I have over 80 OCs uploaded on TH

I won't lie, he was pretty unnoticed at first and I had to post him in a favourite feature thread to kick-start him a bit, but now he doesn't even need that to get faves haha. Someone even said that he was one of my "most iconic OCs" and I was like??????????? I've had him for less than a month

I'm happy to see that he gets a bit of recognition, and it motivates me to flesh out his concept even more! The only things that bugs me a bit are when people only praise his design and ignore his bio, since he was designed by someone else... I appreciate the thought but guys please at least comment on something I actually worked on :') I also fear that he may overshadow some of my other characters who are more important than him in my universe, since he is only a non-canon character to me, but hey, maybe that's just because he is new. Time will tell.

Ollie is super popular among my friends and for RP's, and at a certain level I understand it. He's kind of the bad boy, the villain. But like, they LOVE him. They want him to be HAPPY. This OC is a CANNIBAL, I created him to be the absolute opposite of the moral compass as a few of my other characters. He's supposed to be liked and hated. But no, he's LOVED. Blows my mind every time.

For whatever reason, when I was writing The Fire Within (the story this guy's from), Gravel was the favorite character amongst all my friends. I was so baffled to hear that. XD I imagined that he was going to be semi-forgettable among the main cast, but my friends adored him. Made it really hard to pull off a plot twist I had planned, but y'know. It happens, lol!

even though he seems like a plain design to most, he's also received a lot of favorites and people seem to favorite him a lot!! it makes me happy bc he was an expensive gift from someone and i cherish him a lot <3

I was not expecting my murderous vampire to get so much love.... Honestly he has a few dedicated fans and it blows me away... People like him??? I guess people have a thing for bad boys... Well, he's actuallya nice, good guy.. He just has murderous tendancies that he uses to feed his brood of vampires
