You could ask a relationship question in one of the other Q&A threads, but I thought a thread specifically for relationship questions would be fun, and good for developing character relationships!
In this thread, ask a question to the character a person posted above you in the thread, about a relationship in their life. You'll post IC as a character you would like to be asked about, and edit your post with your character's answer after the person below you asks them a question!
- The relationships in this thread don't have to be romantic! You could ask about a character's relationship with their sibling, their parents, their child, their dog, their rival, their boss, their worshippers-- you get the idea!
- If you want the person below to ask about a particular relationship (or give specific options, like either their brother or their best friend), you can specify at the bottom of your post; otherwise, people will ask you about a relationship that's listed on the character's profile. If you don't specify and no relationships are listed, you'll probably get a vague and potentially unfitting question like what their relationship with their mom is, so I recommend having at least one relationship listed somewhere.
- Questions can be anything: how the characters met, their favorite thing about the other character, silly nicknames, the worst fight they ever had, their favorite memory together, their plans for the future-- anything about a relationship the character has. Try to ask an interesting or thoughtful question!
- That said-- this is NOT intended to be a low-effort thread. You are expected to look at the profiles of each character you are asking about (at least whatever section describes their relationship or history together), and try to think of a relevant question to their relationship. The only exception is if there really is nothing on the characters' pages to base your question on.
- This is not a NSFW thread. Questions and answers can be a little bit racy, but nothing above PG-13. There are other threads for adult questions.
- This is generally an IC thread, but you can answer OOC if you want to or if you need to say something that the character wouldn't.
- Claim first if you need time to read the character's profile. Please ping the person above you so you make sure that they see your response! If you're not sure how to do this, you simply type @THEIRUSERNAME, and they will be notified! This will not work if you edit the ping into your comment later (like if you wanted to claim and then edit your question in); you must put it in when you first submit the comment.
- You are NOT ALLOWED to skip anyone in this thread. If you cannot see the post above you because the poster or you have blocked each other, wait for another person to comment before replying to the thread. Feel free to bump the thread to encourage others to participate!
- Wait at least a couple of posts before going again.

"Do you ever...regret being so cruel to your children?" He of all people knows that mistakes are made in anger, that stubbornness and pride sometimes win out over what is right. Surely someone who was treated so poorly by the people who raised him would want better for his sons than he's ended up giving them. The hairs on the back of Maverick's neck disagree, scream at him that this man is nothing but a monster, but he can only hope that he hasn't encountered someone just, completely evil.

"Failed marriage? Oo... Titian tells me not to be nosy, but if you don't mind, what exactly caused its failure? Was it both ends, or one main person's problem?"
Well. Speak of the devil.
Maverick grimaces, straightens his hair to buy a little time. "It was...It was on both ends, but I'd say it was...more my fault. I was not a very good husband. There were things I just couldn't..." He gestures vaguely, trying to describe scenarios he doesn't want to put words to. "Do."
"Eventually...Eventually it drove her to find what she wanted in someone else. It wasn't surprising, in retrospect, but it still hurt." He crosses his arms, shoulders tense as he forces the words out. "I hit her. We separated shortly afterwards."
"How does she feel about your attempting to be friends?"
"If she is as uncomfortable with it as I am it doesn't stop her from inviting me to her get-togethers. I don't know if it's out of pity after my mother's death or that she genuinely wants to be friends again. Even with her second husband and children out of the house I can't imagine she's just lonely."

"Ah, Lavender..." A small smile crossed the cyclops' face. "We do have a good relationship. Actually, I would consider her my best friend in the whole world. She's my boyfriend's sister, and she has such a happy attitude. But she's not weak either, she's so fierce and well spoken, and... I admire her a lot. We get along extremely well."
“Say,, your friend Kaishin seems quite cool. Knowing him for more than a year,, I would quite like to know how you two met and connected. Seeing how he’s your father figure..”
“Why yes we have.”, Jamie turned their glance to Emma “After the whole situation with me and those past years, I stuck around to hide with him and he just sorta grew on me. I wasn’t so used to his gentle words, after all being held in a place with rude people doesn’t really help. Yet I don’t know if I’d still be free if I never really met him.”
"What is it that you see in that human you're dating - what's his name - Reynolds? Ricky?" Charlton hesitated for a moment, a frown forming across his brow in concentration, "It's.. ah... oh! Ryan! Right, yes, what is it that you see in Ryan that keeps you two together, for the most part?"
"Wh- Simon? Hah- um-" Charles frowned, blush forming in his cheeks, "I don't like him that way. Besides, he's a human, so even if I did, hypothetically, like him that way, it- it just wouldn't be possible. He is.. sweet, though. And funny in such a dry way that he sometimes doesn't get that he's being funny." Charles' expression softened for a moment. "I don't know. I really shouldn't even be telling you any of this."

"Ah~! Mi amor, you are in love, non? This Simon, tell me about him! How did you two meet and how is it you fell in love~?"
Valentine laughed brightly. "People come into the store hoping for the love, mi amor, it is in the name, non? Valentine! Love! Ah~! You are so young, non? So new to the world of infatuation? My heart, she weeps for you, ah! But my customers, they know what to expect and come in for that exact reason! For love!"
Something about the man seems to be unsettling Aeran, which shows through a slight bit in her voice. “So... you hook people up with each other? Huh. What a gig. Anyway, I was wondering, am I the only one weirded out by this whole thing, or have you ever had customers who are suspicious of your intentions? How did you react to that? If not, then have you had any otherwise unusual or notable customers?”
“Some of them may be infuriating and annoying, but they’re the only family I’ve ever known. Whether they care or not, we were placed on this world for a reason- because of our elements- and I like wearing that visual reminder that we’re...a team, I guess.”
[Yes, Aeran gets very awkward when asked about them. XD I don’t have an image of her mentor, Lythios, posted yet, but he dresses with accents of colors that represent all the elements. Aeran kinda wanted to echo him, so she wears items that represent the Catalysts. The other Catalysts have definitely noticed this pattern, and it’s helped them feel more sympathetic towards Aeran. She comes off as bossy and arrogant a lot of the time, but it’s helped them realize that she really doesn’t mean to come off as a jerk; she just wants to let them know that deep down, she cares in her own subtle way.]
Why does she wear items symbolic of the other catalysts if she dislikes them all so much? (or is it just a design choice that she isn't conscious of?)(how would she feel if someone pointed it out? Have the other catalysts noticed her clothing choices/how does it make them feel about her?)

So Innit is in a bit of a strange situation regarding his true family to say the least. Is there anything that feels familiar about them? Is there anything he does like about them at all?
Innit's kinda running on a loop of 'none of this is right' & hasnt really, consolidated the situation at all to himself. Like when he starts to look for anything he recognizes, he'll not see anything right away, gets real upset about it because ultimately he doesn't WANT it to be true, bails before he can have a proper existential crisis, distracts himself with chores, rinse & repeat. (He is slowly building up resentment for his old mistress while simultaneously DESPERATELY WANTING TO GO BACK TO HER AND FORGET THIS EVER HAPPENED.
Even when his opinions on things/people mesh with what he's told his old self liked, he wonders if its even for the same reasons.
So there's not really any familiarity, but there are things to like about his family! They're not cruel for one, and while that is different from what he's used to and makes him feel weird he does appreciate it? He wishes they weren't sometimes, just because he wants to feel normal in some facet of his life & concern for his feelings is a completely alien concept, but other than the surrealism he appreciates it.

My apologies if I am overstepping myself, but... your eldest? Might I ask how he passed? How did Alara feel when she first found out? And, how has the loss of her eldest effected her relationships with her husband and youngest son?
Her eldest son, Kaleb, died in extremely mysterious circumstances, implied to be murder. Of course, Alara was distraught and fell into a long grief over the loss of her child. This in turn affected her personality in the long term. She became extremely protective of her family and distrustful of strangers. It has strained her relationship with both her husband and younger son.
