Day 12.3

Grimm hated how smug Cole looked as he essentially called Grimm out on the fact that he had no solution to offer. He searched desperately for something, but the Archivist was staring at him expectantly, and he finally crumbled, knowing he had nothing but snarky retorts about what to do.

"No, I don't. Is that what you want to hear? I have no suggestions for remedying the situation. I am all out of ideas. Are you happy now?" He scowled as he spit the words out, claws sinking into the ground beneath him.

And Cole had the nerve to smile and simply grunt in affirmation before turning back to look at the battlefield, not even moving from his spot. Grimm was livid, rising to his paws, and he might have even thrown himself at the bigger lion, size and pride relationship completely disregarded, because he hated looking weak. He was meant to be intelligent, navigating situations with shady associates by being even shadier, and yet he could not give a single suggestion as to what they could do that would end the chaos.

Galilee's snicker as she walked around Cole stopped him before he could actually claw his pridemate, however, because he was so bewildered over the fact that she was laughing (and, to be honest, he had almost forgotten that the bounty hunter apprentice was even there, as she'd kind of faded into the background as he and Cole continued to argue).

"Grimm," she said after taking a moment to sort herself out, "you don't have to have a retort for everything."

"Oh, skies above, bug off, Galilee," he grumbled, turning away as his tail swatted in her general direction.

The half snow leopard didn't give up. "Sometimes, someone just wants to do something because it provides them comfort. It doesn't have to make sense to you or actually have any effect on things."

"But we could be actually doing something!"

"Like what?" she asked patiently.

Once again, Grimm came up empty. "I...I don't know. I still don't have any suggestions."

"Exactly. That was the point Cole was trying to make. You want to do something, but you don't know what. Cole and I are feeling the exact same way." She fixed him with a pointed look. "I know that you are used to taking things into your own hands to fix situations, but right now, none of us have any ideas on what we can do."
