Day 12.4

"I don't want to accept that though," he huffed, walking towards the edge of the hill and staring down at the battlefield. "There's got to be something more we can do then just watch. It's chaos down there."

But despite the itch in Grimm's paws telling him to do something more than just sit by with his two companions and watch the chaos, he really had no solution for how to fix everything that was going so wrong. "No, that's not true. We're focusing too much on the trees. We can't fix what's happening with the trees. Three lions isn't going to make a difference in putting the flames of either one out; if they're going to be put out, the champions and other soldiers fighting for them will be able to do it. Our presence isn't going to make a difference for two gods." However, as his gaze scanned over the battlefield, he nodded, a look of determination lighting up his face as he looked back to Cole and Galilee. "But our presence can make a difference for one cat or lion."

Cole looked at him and tilted his head to the side questioningly as Galilee asked, "Grimm, what are you even saying?"

"We've been so caught up on the trees and the gods that we aren't even thinking about the individuals in their armies." He said, growing a little exasperated when both still didn't seem to get it. "The citizens? The champions? Heck, even those decaying soldiers that may or may not have a mind of their own? A lot of them are still out there on the field, even with the fire beginning to spread. They're in danger."

"And we can save them," Galilee said quietly, and Grimm sighed with relief. Finally, they were getting it. "You want us to go out there in the middle of the fire and chaos to try and save the lives of those dumb enough to involve themselves in a fight between gods?"

"We want to do something," Grimm retorted as Cole scowled at Galilee. He'd forgotten that his pridemate most likely had friends out there; there was no way he could've stayed here for days and not at least made one friend, no matter how socially awkward he was, "and that's something we can do to help."

Cole rose to his paws and nodded. "Let's go."

And with that, the ragtag trio rushed down the hill and into the thick of it.
