INTRODUCTION
Despite getting the title of Country of Prosperity, Altale still has its fair share of controversies & problems. No country can escape those, no matter how peaceful they are. Some may think the country’s hiding its problems, while in reality it doesn’t, in fact they tend to make them very obvious through protests.

Lack of females
Altale suffers from a lack of balance in genders. Only 18% of Altale’s population is a human woman, which makes competition very fierce for human men. This is also a major problem in the country, as this may eventually threaten the human species’ existence in Altale as other species include themselves in it more.
One of the main solutions used to deal with this problem is the creation of Androids, who are essentially female robots that are capable of reproduction. This raises a lot of controversies, as many people question whether Androids can be considered people or not, as they are supposed to be robots. Yet, they know and can understand feelings and can interact with everyone just like humans do.
Science vs religion
Science and religion manage to co-exist in Altale, although these two parties tend to fight each other a lot due to their clashing point of views. This clash may seem major, but in reality, a lot of people don’t care about the fact they co-exist. Despite that, some people believe religion should be abolished, while others believe it should be science that gets abolished.
The science side of the clash, the Metropolis Trio & the cities, mostly agree that science & religion co-exist because one doesn’t have to dominate the other. The reason why this is a controversy in the first place is because of the villages, who are greatly against science. They want to overthrow science to favor religion, but unfortunately, the cities don’t care enough to fight against them.
This causes the villages to isolate themselves from the rest of Altale, doing their own thing instead of joining the rest of Altale for a fully-united country.
Discrimination
Only after Marigold was founded did people of other species started to visit Altale in bigger numbers. Due to them being different from humans, they were usually discriminated against. Oddly enough, there is no discrimination towards LGBTQ+ members.
Androids receive a lot of hate due to them not being humans and them replacing homan women. Some of them receive even more hate because they are replacing a girlfriend or even a dead person.
Kemonomimis also receive backlash, although they are more accepted than Androids due to them feeling more human than Androids. Some will still look at their animal traits and look at them weird, though.
Demons are considered to be the epitome of black magic in the eyes of Panna, which makes them extremely hated to the point where some Pannanians will try to repel them away with white magic.
Discrimination is a major topic in Altale, since the country is supposed to be welcoming anyone. While most people are open to other species, some people will hate on others for their species. Protests & petitions are actively circulating around the country, in hopes that something is done about it. Some celebrities also speak up about this, as they want everyone to be more open to differences in terms of species. This problem isn’t as major in the smaller cities, but it is still a hot topic in those places.
