Geography

Magnolia is a city located at the south of Altale and is organized in a roundish shape. In the middle of the city, a two-kilometer-large park, Lunasol Park, makes Altale a greener city. Magnolia is surrounded by a thick forest called Magnolia Forest. In the forest, a lot of bugs and animals live there, as well as a certain Spirit Fox. A facility has also been installed in the forest, on Myosotis' side that is known to research the forest's soils & sometimes the animals. Between Magnolia and Myosotis, which is at the east of the former, a shrine occupates a minor part of the forest. Some say that the shrine has been at the exact spot for hundreds of years. Not a lot of people has visited, though, meaning no one knows if the shrine actually exists or not. A few lakes & rivers replace trees as well.

Attractions

The Metropolis of Innovation isn't known for its touristic attractions, but there are still some interesting places that can be visited. Lunasol Park is a major destination, as it's the main location for some of Altale's holiday celebrations due to its size. Sweet Symphonies is known to be one of the best chocolate shops in Magnolia and is currently on the road to becoming one of the best chocolate shops in Altale. Starpugs is a dog cafe tourists also love to visit because of its concept. There are a few more interesting places to visit, but Magnolia is mainly known to be a city where people are serious most of the time.

Because Magnolians are very serious most of the time, some people have attempted to break the seriousness in the form of shows. Mettabel Rosewell, notably, has created one of the first shows that was known to be a great success. Her show, Glorious Ladies which praised the beauty of women, who are fewer than men. In her show, Mettabel would also talk about beauty tips for both genders and about rarely brought up subjects. The tone of the show was very light compared to the rest of Magnolia, which caught the attention of both genders. Unfortunately, Mettabel had to retire due to health issues and for a while, there were no shows in Lunasol Park.

A few years later, her son, Mettaton, started a show, Diverse Masteries, after his parents left Magnolia for the Magnolia Forest Facility. At first, the show wasn't as successful, because Mettaton couldn't pull off his mother's charm but eventually developped his own charm. This caused his show to be known as the best in Magnolia and is currently in competition with some of the shows from Myosotis. Diverse Masteries is a talent show because most shows begin with a talent showcase, but can sometimes be classified as a variety show due to the structure of the show changing between each show. The only part that does not change is the finale, where Mettaton and Caulifla perform in front of the audience.

During Diverse Masteries's beginnings, a new show started named Love of Wisdom. It is a show hosted by Psyli that talked about philosophy and social issues. It gained a lot of audience at first but said audience slowly declined. This and Psyli's depression caused the show to be on hiatus. Eventually, the show was discontinued after the host picked up music.

Culture

The inhabitants living in Magnolia are usually people who take life extremely seriously, to the point where Magnolia can be seen as a no fun zone according to visitors. Despite this, they usually enjoy taking strolls around Lunasol Park while appreciating what skilled people have to offer. The inhabitants also have a tendency of spending a lot on technology (even if it's not very useful), as Magnolia is the home to the latest technologies. Magnolia being one of the richest cities in Altale, its inhabitants also have the habit of overspending in general, assuming that they will always get some money back, even if it's not always true.
