Villages

Panna

Panna (Virgo in Czech) is a village located in the middle of the Forest of the Blessed that’s isolated from the rest of Altale. It is the biggest village amongst all of them, while also being the main preachers. The Pannanians, also known as Virgins, are notorious for being intolerant towards science and most arts, which is why Panna does not have a good relationship with the rest of Altale. The only type of art they tolerate is any type of art that preaches Virgo or doesn’t shock anyone.

Only humans who don’t like technology are allowed in Panna, any other species would be kicked out even if they want to take part in the community. This is because of what happened during the Magic War. People who don’t have the same point of view as them are also not welcomed in the village.

Despite all of that, Panna has a lot of emphasis on family, meaning everyone in a family has to help each other no matter the circumstances. Due to how the village has a “no fun allowed” approach, some people try to flee it, only to be usually caught by guards. This makes it so many people are forced to stay in the village even if they want to live elsewhere.

Virgo Statue

This statue was made in honor of Altale’s Goddess of Kindness, Virgo, after she helped Altale’s survivors restore the country after the Magic War. It is a very important piece of Panna, as it is very often used as a praying place. The statue is also the main location where gifting rituals are done to thank her for her work. Sacrificial rituals are even done once in a few years to “appease” Virgo, even if it is completely unnecessary.

This is where people in Panna make rituals in order to give Virgo some gifts as a thanks for helping Altale thrive. This is also where sacrificial rituals are done once in a few years to "appease" Virgo.

Most importantly, it is the main artefact that allows one to visit Niflheimr from Altale. To be able to teleport to the limbo realm, one must give the statue a butterfly. It doesn’t matter if it’s a real butterfly or a paper butterfly, as long as it’s butterfly-shaped.

Beran

Before Virgo was appointed the country goddess of Altale, there was a different Zodiac God who took care of Altale with the name of Aries. He had his own village named Beran (Aries in Czech), which was unfortunately located in the Land of Chaos, known to house lots of dark creatures. The village was quickly abandoned, as it housed lots of black magic users, which influenced the type of vibe the village had. This was amplified when Sanya, the goddess of the Felimps, was sealed in a statue that was placed in the middle of Beran, never to be touched again.

Very few people want to live in Beran, as it is a village filled with black-magic users who have gone insane from the Sanya statue’s influence on the Land of Chaos. Usually, people living in the village are either Pannanians who were transferred to keep Sanya’s seal on her or Altalians who want nothing to do with the country.

After the goddess’ banishment to the Demon Realm, those who regained their sanity worked extremely hard to make Beran a more liveable place. It is now a touristic village where the strong-willed can learn about Altale’s darkest secrets. It is also the country’s best place to learn about the occult and anything related to black magic.

Sanya Statue

This used to be Sanya in a sealed state, but after the actual Sanya was banished back to the Demon Realm, it is now a normal statue of a cat girl.

When Sanya was still trapped in the statue, it was possible to hear her say “OwO, what’s this?”. She also had a great influence on black magic users, causing them to go insane. Her influence was strongest in the village, as people were closer to the statue.
