Physical Description 

• Skinny
• Giant black eyebrows, equally black goatee
• Scruffy, doesn't have a whole lot of hair
  • It falls out in clumps when he's stressed
  • Sometimes he molts and loses all of it
• Skin underneath his fur is mottled (potential skin condition)
• His shadow is bound to him
  • It can move to different surfaces, but a part of it will always be tethered to him
  • It tends to stay on him, roaming around his body
    • Its "face" often appears on the back of his head
    • One of its hands often looks to be holding his right hand
    • It tries to avoid light, so it sometimes behaves like a normal shadow
  • It doesn't exactly look like him - it's jittery and has variable limbs, etc.
    • Sometimes it even looks like two of him - one to cast a shadow on him, and one to cast a shadow of him on the objects around him

Personality 

• Self-conscious about his hair issues and the shadow thing, which makes him defensive and grumpy
• Fairly grouchy, doesn't play well with others
• Guarded, reclusive
• Extremely paranoid, sees things moving out of the corners of his eyes
  • Often feels like people are staring at him
  • His shadow doesn't help with this; it messes with him for fun
• Easily annoyed, doesn't smile often
• Afraid of the dark to an absurd degree

• Bright lights
• Solitude, with the assurance that he is alone
• Being able to keep an eye on people around him without them seeing him

Dislikes 

• Darkness
  • Won't leave his house after dark
  • Keeps candles and LED lanterns in every room in case of power outages
• Hearing noises he's not used to
• His TV turned off in the other room.  Was it a power surge?  Is he alone?

Personal Info 

• Has tried before to get rid of his shadowy "passenger," but the "expert" he hired to remove it was more intent on, well... fawning over it
  • ...and low-key flirting with him too, jesus christ
  • At least he has a friend now?  Koyuk won't go away
• Oh my god Koyuk brought an even worse tagalong and honestly Lucius would rather just have to deal with his shadow at this point
  • This actual cretin keeps trying to scare him and then giggles like an annoying child.  Doesn't he know this is serious??  What an actual troglodyte.
• Has more power in bright light, because his shadow is sharper and more tangible
• In the dark, his shadow mingles with the general darkness in the area, and is more of a mist with no light to define it
  • He feels like it's all around him, like he's suffocating
• Sleeps with his lights on, after going through a nightly ritual involving shuttering and locking all his windows, double-bolting all his doors, and walking through every room in his house making sure nothing is out of order
• True crime shows terrify him, but he sometimes watches them anyway and scares himself
