Technically a true-blooded member of the Malbranche, Calcab is fucking weird. His grandparents cut ties with the family, no longer able to live with the immorality and grief of it all, and in Aeneas Malacoda’s everlasting mercy, he let them and their family leave– So long as they never spoke of anything they had seen or done, ever again.

This went well, and Calcab came of age on his grandparent’s farm, raised by them. But Calcab’s always been a city boy, and once they finally died he did not care one bit for manning that thing. He made his return to the Malbranche only recently, and was welcomed with utterly bewildered and open arms. Mostly because he shore half of Virgil’s fringe clean off with a sword nobody knew he was carrying mere milliseconds after being told ‘No’.

Clownish in nature, his true talent lies in the aforementioned swordsmanship. Though, he’s leaned into the clown thing harder after he caught wind that new recruit Alic wants to become a practitioner of the Circus Arts himself– Plus, it’s funny to one-up the guy trying to mentor the other sibling.

Most of the Malbranche consider him an enigma, since the man rarely speaks. Farfa has often questioned if he is in fact, a mime, rather than your average sword-swallower. Especially seeing as nobody’s ever seen him do the latter. Either way, everyone just leaves him to do his thing, as his reflexes and fighting ability are fucking scary.
