Bernadette Wicke

Bernadette Wicke is the eldest of the Wicke sisters, and was the arbiter of their lofty Grandmothers estate, before and after Madame Wicke passed away. Bernadette took this role very seriously, going so far as to give allowances to her other sisters and monitor how, when, and on what they used their spare time and money. It must have been like living in a prison with how strictly she ran that place. I can't imagine her grandmother approved of her granddaughters approach to things given how wildly liked Madame Wicke was in the community for her charity and lavish parties, but I never got the chance to meet the late matriarch. Her health began to fail her a few years back and soon no one saw or heard from her except for what Bernadette relayed to them.

As it turned out, Bernadette was not supposed to have any control over Madame Wickes account, and instead almost all of Madame Wickes money was supposed to be donated to various charities, leaving behind only small amounts for each sister to start businesses of their own and make their own fortunes, as well as the family mansion which has been in the family for generations. Except for Bernadette, who had been stealing from her grandmother and was caught. She alone was to be removed from the will, leaving her on her own after her grandmothers death. Unfortunately for Madame Wicke, she came down with an expected case of "being murdered" before this new will could take affect.

In truth, Bernadette killed her Grandmother in a fight between the two about Bernadette's removal from the will. Bernadette destroyed what she believed to be the official will stating this in order to keep most of the funds to herself, controlling her sisters lives as much as she could, ultimately framing her middle sister, Glimmer, with the murder of their Grandmother.. Bernadette had hoped that by black mailing Fleur into staying quiet else she end up on the streets, and sending Glimmer to prison, that she alone could get the estate she felt was so owed to her. Thankfully I was able to put her in her proper place and help her unfortunate sisters out.

I hear lately her sisters visit her at least once or twice a month in her small home where she is under house arrest for the foreseeable future while she undergoes her own therapy sessions, and the two younger women seem to be doing much better off without her.
