Boom has been obsessed with making things "Go Boom" that they long since tossed their old name for their current nickname. Never fitting in anywhere Boom spent most of their time working on new types of bombs and fireworks, setting them off in parks, parking lots, grocery stores, and near police stations just to get a rise out of people. They're pranks have gotten them in a lot of trouble with just about everyone. It's hard to say why they're this way - maybe a bad childhood, maybe its just a way to release pent up feelings, maybe they just really like to blow things up and nothing more... but I have a feeling it's the latter.
Despite the long running list of pranks, Boom has never really been a mean-spirited person, and never set anything off to hurt someone. Maybe their car or their pride...but no physical harm. Unfortunately, having no friends, family or any kind of support system eventually led Boom down a slightly darker path for awhile in which they started setting off more fireworks or smoke bombs in more populated areas, all to get attention from anyone. And attention they got! Usually in the form of being thrown in jail for the night.
That is until Ace show up: out of the blue the mohawked guitarist appeared, waiting outside their run down apartment in some far off city after Boom recently was released from a two night stint in the jail for setting a small firework off in some trash cans...directly outside said jail. (No one was harmed so the authorities just took the rest of their explosives). Ace was looking for a new effects manager for his band, Babysitters Tantrum, and had seen the firework go off in the trash can a couple days before. The two apparently hit it off instantly because not only is Boom the head pyro-technician for the band, they're the lead drummer too!
Eventually they added in the third and final member, Nova, and the trio slowly but surely made their way to Neo Odesville as they tried to get a name for themselves in the underground music world. They've pretty much set up shop permanently in town now and while the shows are actually quite impressive... the trio appear to have consolidated their bad habits instead of working to move past them. In fact, the trio are starting to make a name for themselves not just as the hard-rock punk's Treble Makers... but also as thieves for higher, as long as you can pay their price.
Suffice it to say, they're going to be a pain in the neck in more ways than one...

- No, the name "Babysitters Tantrum" has no significant meaning other than Nova suggested it very loudly and ordered merch before anyone could object.
- They're real name has been more or less abandoned - but Boom is actually just a nickname based on how much they loves to make things, well, go Boom! They don't seem to even recognize the name Alphonse, so it could be my information is wrong. They did clarify however it isn't a dead name situation, it just seems like they adopted the nickname of Boom at a very young age and sort of forgot about their original name entirely.
- Non-binary. While they say they don't care if people accidentally misgender them... the number of cherry bombs that show up in peoples toilets after the misgendering tells another story.
- Adores creating new types of fire works and bombs. Thanks to Ace they were able to channel this love from dangerous chaos to the steller effects used in their shows. Boom's fire works are very elaborate and impressive! They should definitely work with the Inspector Query stage shows at some point.
- Has a minor rivalry with the Kringled Kaper when it comes to smoke bombs. They don't care nearly as much as Kaper does, probably because their smoke bombs ARE better, but they will take any challenge the Kaper throws at them.
- Is extreamely lazy otherwise - to the point that outside making explosives or playing the drums, they really don't do much past binging tv and pizza.
- Total coward, compared to the rest of their band. When the going gets tough, they're the first one to turn tail and run. Thankfully [for their bandmates] they never leave Nova or Ace behind, so I guess loyalty is worth facing their fears at least.
