Eren Saskia

In the city of Sparta, peculiar characters live in an uneasy peace. Humans and animal-hybrids co-exist together in this world of theirs, however, in Sparta, there always seems to be something destructive going on. Whether it be unexplainable explosions, or mysterious murders, Sparta is a town that is rife with crime that is seemingly without origin or purpose. But still, despite this chaos that runs rampant throughout the town, there are people who wish to do good. Masked heroes, super-groups, good samaritans, all of these people together work to clean up the streets, and make Sparta a safe (or at least, tolerable) place to call home.

While some make the streets safer, they don't do it for noble intentions. No, for Eren Saskia, he does his job for a thrill, and not to see the grateful faces of those he helps. A famous traveling detective, Eren goes town to town solving mysteries with relative ease, all at a rapid pace meant to elude the press. As of recently, he's come upon Sparta as a new hotspot for cases. Murders, robberies, arson, so many crimes are left unsolved by the lackluster police department! All waiting for the wonderful Eren Saskia to waltz in and solve them...

Physical Description:

Eren is a tall(er) man with a skinny, lithe build. He's relatively breakable, and has a noticeable, heavy stutter when he talks. He is a brown cat, and normally has a docile look on his face...until one brings out his true nature.

He has short, bushy brown hair that seems to be all over the place. His eyes are an amber orange color, although when he's presenting as a fool they're normally shut.

Eren is the only surviving member of the Saskia lineage, a line of famed and prestigious detectives who went cross-country solving cases all over the country. Eren has been carrying out the family tradition since their passing, going from state to state, chasing his desire for solving mysteries. His recent trek has landed him Sparta, a crime-filled, yet pressless place where he can do his work and not attract any attention. He hates attention... 

While he is in the public eye, Eren presents in a personality more...presentable. He tailors his actions to the company he's around. However, when he's alone, Eren is revealed to be a rough and uncaring sort. Willing to do anything to get a confession, he's not above torture and deceit.

Personality:

To the world, Eren presents his personality differently. The moment he walks outside, he becomes a different person. Fairly aware of the worlds expectations, he tailors his actions to meet the standards of others. He is kind when talking to others, he is mindful, he is harmless enough to gain the trust of strangers, and then he goes home. He goes home and reveals his true self to his own reflection in the mirror.

The Eren others know is that of a slow, yet brilliant detective. Always smiling, and always kind, he bumbles around a crime-scene somehow making deductions that prove themselves correct in court. His stutter may be egregious, and the long pauses he makes before speaking superfluous, but he really is a kindly genius who seems like an untouchable darling to those who know him.

But the Eren that he himself knows has little to no empathy for others. In reality, Eren only cares about himself and his cases--not to mention his spotless reputation. He cannot bring himself to be in the company of others, and is frank with his boredom, as well as his opinions regarding others. He pokes at people for his own amusement, seeing how they react to his jabs. He sees people as separate experiments, or as conditions that produce results, rather than as human beings.

When he is revealed, it becomes apparent that Eren is quick to anger. His rages are destructive, and there are times when he can become so worked up he blacks out, and wakes up with carnage in his wake. Eren has a weakness for the bottle, and drinks to cope whenever he is met with woes...or sometimes just because he can. It's stressful, living how he does. If you were in his position, you'd be drinking too.

Because, as someone who is afraid of the spotlight, its very very hard to deal with the press constantly following you everywhere. Once you get their attention, they never stop, and Eren has been attempting to elude the tabloids for years. It drives him crazy, and finally Sparta seems to have all the answers for him! But, as he's soon to find out, with one problem solved, many others appear in its wake...

Strengths & Weaknesses:

Eren may not be the stronger, or the fastest, but he is an absolute genius when it comes to decoding the actions of others. Eren has amazing deductive skills, all instilled in him from childhood. Often times, he doesn't look at people, he looks at their attire and their details--discerning what kind of person they are from outside information alone. Because of his amazing talents, Eren can solve crimes in days what would take an experienced detective weeks to solve. It really is quite thrilling to watch.

Eren is physically weak and slow. He's not at all trained to defend himself, and while he knows how to handle a gun, he can't do it well. Eren also is paralyzed by attention. He has very bad scopophobia. He can function in a crime scene, but if theres too much of that sensation and it gives him overload, he has to take a break to calm himself. His hyper-focus on solving crimes/in crime scenes aids him in getting his work done, but when he pops out of that sphere, hes susceptible to overloading himself.

 Bonus Facts:

- Is somewhere on the autism spectrum. Although, growing up he parents convinced him into believing his condition was much more negative than it actually is.

- He had a younger sister, once.

- Eren does not have origins as a Sonic the Hedgehog fan-character. He's inspired by a video game character whose design I liked as a teenager.
