Def Jasper he’s pretty much a gijinka of my mental health issues at this point and is very plain design wise yet he’s somehow got more favs than anyone else in my roster? Idk what people see in him but I’m def curious to know!
@Judas-la-carotte's thread about underrated characters made me think about the opposite! I'm not going to use the word "overrated" because I certainly don't mean that any OCs deserve less love, but do you have any characters whom you're surprised get more attention than you expected they would, among your characters?
Maybe people pick them more often in forum games or art trades than other characters, they have more faves than you expected, or they're just the ones your friends have gravitated towards for whatever reason-- but maybe they aren't among your own favorites, or they're just not the OCs you expected would be popular.
And has that character's popularity inspired you to use or develop them more, or give them a bigger role in whatever story or project they may be in?
There are no particular rules for this thread; just be nice and don't try to make people feel bad about their taste or anything like that.
Seymour started off as a Splatoon fandom oc, and even though I made him later than all my others he got a surprising amount of attention! I was really proud since he's supposed to be popular in-universe, and it's easy to make characters like that seem forced or obnoxious. Consequently I felt reassured in featuring him as a main character in comics. I think getting to focus on him made me like him more than I thought I would, too.
I haven't had his human counterpart for as long, but he still tends to get more comments than I expect. (On twitter at least, since I'm still getting a feel for things here)
Anatole is my char with the most favorites and in the short amount of time I’ve had them they’ve gotten so much praise and obviously I love them but I didn’t expect Anatole to be one of the most liked amongst all my chars. Since they’re a fandom char it doesn’t really make me give them a bigger role or anything, but it does make me hyped to develop them! <3

Like... her design is incredibly unoriginal right? Yet here we are, where a lot of my peers are drawn to and incredibly invested in her character X''D I don't know how it happens, but it means a lot all the same ahaha~
When I first got Aera I didn't think people would like her plus I was pretty new to TH when I finally got her and uploaded her.I am unsure how she even ended up with 36 favourites together with her boyfriend at 33 faves.
I also wasn't expecting Minami to have that many favourites as I was sure I would love her more then people would.I'll still really like her even if people don't but it does put me in ease when I know at least she has people who does like her whether it's her design or anything else.
