In the vein of the "What's in your character's pocket?" thread, here's another little question that might say a lot about your character!
What's the single most important physical item in your character's life, the one thing they would save from a burning building? Why is it so important to them? (Alternately, is there anything they would be happy to see burn?)
(Maybe try not to pick pets or loved ones for this since that's probably the logical first priority for most characters, but you can if that's absolutely the only thing that would be on their mind!)
I'll go first, and say that Amber would save her guitar, because it was a gift from someone very dear to her who has since passed on.
Asar would grab his own mummy/corpse: his existence as an akh is heavily tied to the preservation of his mortal body. He’ll be erased from existence if it is ever destroyed
However, if his body isn’t anywhere near the fire, his next go-to would be any historical artifact - Ancient Egyptian artifacts are the priority and everything else is after. He knows how important it is to preserve the past and how painful it can be to have something lost to the ravages of time! Each item has a story, and he wants to preserve that story so others can treasure it too. If he had to pick one very specific artifact, it would be an old ivory “doll” he had as a child. It reminds him of his mother, who he hasn’t seen since he died millenniums ago
Sid would probably try to save either her precious Xbox game console or precious gaming computer. If any of those are too heavy for her, her precious computer mouse-
Kori wouldn't have the forethought to save something in a fire besides herself, but the thing she would want to have saved in hindsight is her sweater. It was a gift from her older brother, and she actually did lose it in an electrical fire (where she prioritized saving her friend Kuroko) but her brother's friend went in when the fire died down and retrieved the remaining sleeve, as Kori was visibly upset by losing the sweater. She later had it turned into a scarf.
I even highly doubt he’d even be able to get anything out due to panic, more or less save himself :,) but if he were able to do so, he’d probably try to save his picture from of his parents, who wouldn’t? unless they’ve got some beef with them or whatsoever
her flying staff ! not only is Mouse extremely flammable but hes her best friend / pet and he lets her fly everywhere so she can go get help with him or something. i dont think she would care about anything else getting burnt, the rest of her belongings are mainly dirt and stolen items but i think she would be happy to see the pictures of her parents burn
First he would probably try to grab as many cats currently hanging out at his place as he can, then go for his knife collection. Though someone should probably tell him that trying to carry a bunch of knives AND a bunch of cats at the same time probably isn't going to end very well...
That being said, if he could only choose ONE cat and ONE knife, thankfully that choice would be easy. He'd take Void (the cat) and Sir Stabbington (the knife). But he'd still be sad to see the others go. :C
