T1 - From The Heart

Rocky stepped into the area in which he had heard St. Florentine had been waiting. They had made a special request, and knew that he and Cherry would be the ones that could help them out.

“I think they just wants to see us,” Rocky said to her as they walked together.

Cherry nodded, “They can see the auras of Bellacostians, and I’ve heard it can be especially dazzling when it’s a strong aura of love. I bet you’re right on the money, they’ll be thrilled with us.”

Chungus playfully made a kissy face at the duo, buzzing a sing-song tune that sounded suspiciously like it was about Rocky and Cherry in some sort of tree. Kindle didn’t join in on the song, but smiled up at the two that had taken him in. He and Chungus had become fast friends since meeting in that cave in Brouzet, and it was rare to see them without one another.

Sugar and Spice had also tagged along, as usual. Really, the group of six was rarely apart unless there was some plotting of surprises going on, like when Rocky planted an entire garden of flowers with Gyre for Cherry. Surprisingly, Spice was on his best behavior and was trotting contently next to Sugar as the group approached St. Florentine.

“Hello and greetings!” the saint said to them cheerfully. They gasped when they saw Cherry and Rocky, their wings spreading up and out as high as they would go, “Are you here for a summoning letter for a little bloom!?”

Cherry and Rocky both should have expected this, knowing St. Florentine was responsible for handing out the summons letter for blooms waiting for their parents at the Dawn Garden. And yet, here we are, with two shocked Bellacostians.

Sugar and Spice ran over to St. Florentine and did everything they could to get their attention, whether it was Sugar flopping onto the saint’s long lofty tail, or Spice playing with their scarf that had trailed down onto the ground.

Kindle poked at Rocky and had a look of puzzlement on his face, almost as if he were trying to say “And you didn’t tell me?”

“No no,” Rocky said with a nervous laugh, “We’re here because we heard you were looking for those with a really strong bond or attachment with someone else.”

Cherry nodded quickly in agreement. “You see, I love Rocky so very very much, and I know he loves me just as much as I love him. We’re perfect for what you’re asking!”

St. Florentine nodded sagely, “This is true, this is true. It has been a very very long time since I’ve seen a really strong aura of love, let me have a little looksie here, now just think about one another for me please, thank you.”

Cherry and Rocky both did as they were instructed, and Kindle, Chungus, Sugar, and Spice all followed the directions as well, thinking of their little family of six at the same time. Afterall, they all loved and cared for one another, that’s what families do.

The saint’s heterochromatic eyes sparkled when they looked on at the group, “Oh my saints, this is a sight to behold!!” Their voice was filled with joyful glee, their little hooves tippy-tapping on the ground in excitement. “This is exactly what I was hoping for!!”
