S24. What kind of sleeper is your lion? What position do they sleep in? How do they usually wake up? Are they a heavy or light sleeper? When do they usually sleep?

Shadow sleeps whenever and wherever he wants. He’s not picky - soft bed or a hard floor, anything will do. He’s used to both. Since he used to be a thief quite often he had to be on the run. Then he slept in forests, dark alleys, caves. He learned the discomforts of dark, damp places and aching back from lying on pebbles or twigs. But whenever he managed to get some coin he would spend it immediately on luxuries including oversized meals and bedding with excessive amount of pillows. He learned that a mattress too soft will try to swallow him and make sleeping quite a challenge.

After turning into a vigilante he made his home in a large cave on the outskirts of Kingscardine. It’s dark and the floors are sand and stone, but at least it’s dry. He made himself quite a comfortable nook there to sleep in, but he often ends up exhausting himself with work and then just falls asleep wherever he was standing. Often it’s the floor, sometimes a desk or a stone shelf of the wall.

He feels safe there and often sleeps with his paws in the air and his belly exposed. Even in strange places he ends up sprawled akimbo.

He’s constantly vigilant during a nap. The first reaction if someone tries to wake him up is to attack. Luckily, it does not happen with Auris or their relationship would have a hard obstacle to overcome.

Most of the time when he wakes up his mane is all over the place, plastered to his face and standing in different directions. It takes a couple of minutes to bring it back to it’s normal look.
