Ever since he was adopted as a baby by the royal family, Neno had to act according to their etiquette. They never treated him like a son. They gave him a place to live and that was it. He was meant to be nothing, but a servant. He slept in the kitchens and was taken care of by the cooks. He had to quickly learn how to behave and show respect to those of higher rank than him and that meant everyone. However, the youngest daughter of the royals took an interest in him. Perhaps at first she saw him as a living doll she could play with, but soon they became best friends. The little princess aspired to be a knight and encouraged Neno to learn and become one alongside her.

Having run away from the castle after learning the truth about the past, Neno did things that were inexcusable for a servant and even more, for a knight. He broke the code by being disobedient, breaking into a fight with the other knights when he tried to get into the king’s chambers and in the end, kidnapping the queen.

He had her tied up in the ruins of his old home and meant to serve her the same fate as she did for his family. Before his escape Neno learnt the reason he was adopted. The royal family was at war with his and ended up destroying his castle and whole family. For whatever reason, they spared him. Perhaps as an act of mockery or humiliation. He wasn’t going to stand for this.

Neno understands that he has taken a dark path and will be considered a villain by many. He doesn’t care. Those who think that will be wrong. True, his plan is to destroy the kingdom of the sun, but only in an act of revenge.

In a way he wants to be evil. The big bad who will rain fire and destruction upon his oppressors until they feel what he feels. Until there is nothing left. There is a rage inside him heavily weighing on his heart. He does not know how else to get rid of it other than by an act of vengeance.

Whatever is coming to the kingdom of the day - they deserve. What Neno is planning to do definitely is an act of evil, but what they did was even worse. Neno considered them his adoptive family all the time until now. It’s not easy to go from being family to sworn enemies. It’s a complete change of feelings and worldview. However, at the same time, the fact that they only posed as lions who cared about him only adds fire to his rage making it so much easier to hate them.

Neno can’t imagine ending things any other way. His plan is to kill the queen to make the king suffer for ever giving the command to attack his family and making the mistake of sparing his own life. He won’t let him hurt for long though, with his newfound powers he will set the castle of the sun ablaze, destroy it and burn it to the ground. A perfect act of revenge. They will suffer the same way he did.

Having spent his whole life near the royal family, it was impossible for him not to develop some sort of bond with them. Thoughts that maybe there was another way for them to pay for the crimes of the past has crossed his mind. A way that would not result in the beginning of a new war and many deaths. But, how could he ever live knowing that the murderers of his family walked free? He couldn’t allow that. There was only one way avenge his ancestors.

Neno never had an especially strong bond with his adoptive parents. For most of his life he even considered that the Queen hated him. It all made sense now why that would be. Although, she never displayed any more affection towards her own children, which is surprising. His siblings interacted with him sometimes, but treated him more as a friend. Ra was always kind, but she acts like that towards everybody. Prospit teased and annoyed him which made him feel like a real brother. The only exception in the family is Soley - a girl with whom he developed the closest bond in his life. Up until now he thought that they would always be together serving as knights to their kingdom. He doesn’t want to admit his own feelings, but he will miss her immensely. However, right now his blinded by his anger at being tricked.

When Neno learnt about his past he was in shock. He did not think much about what he was doing. He run away from the castle before talking to anyone, even the little princess, or giving anyone a second glance. He ran for hours until he collapsed, exhausted. It took him days to find the ruins of his old home. Only burnt, broken stones remained from what was once a mighty palace. Memories of the past and the fire came back to him stronger than ever and he felt scared, alone and powerless. Those feelings turned into anger, rage.

He has been deceived for years. Those who he considered friends, even family, were only toying with him. Using him for their own sick reasons. He would get revenge and to do that, he needed power. He found a way to obtain it - a very dangerous one, but he wasn’t about to back down. He formed a contract with a demon and learnt to control flames. Fire has always scared him. His earliest memory is of his kingdom burning down around him and now he knows that’s how his family died. Yet, he did not give up and overcome his fear. All for the sake of revenge. He devised a plan and set it into action. He kidnapped the queen and would finally get justice for his family.
