As one of the smallest Familiars, Pealokeets stand between 4 and 5 inches tall. Be sure to take care with this friendly and often communal species as they can be extremely flighty, especially if they haven't been handled much. However, if socialized at a young age, they can be extremely friendly towards people. Their beauty, size, and relatively easy care makes them popular with kids and families.

These tiny, quirky pets do best in small groups or with an extremely attentive owner. They need other creatures to interact with to remain happy and healthy. Pealokeets are born without their characteristic tail feathers but grow them in at adulthood.

Most Pealokeets can subside on a diet of small seeds, but only the pickiest of Pealokeets will turn down fresh fruits and veggies. Never forget to check their water bowls as Pealokeets dehydrate very easily. If left without liquids they'll quickly lose energy and the petals on their head and neck will become dull and wilted. While they usually enjoy warm temperatures, summer can exacerbate their water needs and a close eye must be kept on them lest they suffer from heat exhaustion.
