Profile

a nasty, bitter, vain individual. sam has resented their existence since the moment they were created. the result of one witch, nyssa blake’s, attempt at taboo magic, nyssa sought to bring one of her childhood drawings to life. just to see if she could. and out came a terribly boring looking, and resentful creature. this creature was sam. sam despised their creator, who created a two-dimensional abomination, a blank slate, for the sake of curiosity and hubris. they were nothing but an experiment, they knew this — or rather, internalized it — and nothing nyssa could do would mitigate that powerful feeling. it was worsened by the fact meither of them ever went outside; after all, nyssa had committed one of the greater arcane taboos, and she didn’t want anybody to find out. what would she say, were somebody to discover dear old sam? no, she simply couldn’t risk it. much to sam’s disgust, nyssa would go on and make more abominations, one of which would even grow to love them.

despicable.

so they betrayed their creator, sold them out to one of the few earth-dwelling covens. but before they could come and arrest her, she had disappeared, leaving nothing but madison behind. sam was on their own now, infuriated, and had nothing to show for their deeds. they only knew that this earth was no place for them, so they fled someplace an arcane infused being could survive. they fled to fogmere.

now, any sensible mad wizard’s abomination would have perhaps sought some way to kill itself, after exacting vengeance on its master. but not sam. sam had formed some twisted sort of egoism, and had begun to care for themselves far too much. they wanted to try and dress up this dull appearance, and become one of the most luxurious beings in the city. it took hard work, and years of effort, but gradually the living mannequin gained themselves quite the bit of fame in the city. they began to pursue a career in journalism, or rather, papparazzi work for gossip mags. any celebrity would know better than to land in the lens of this sundress clad menace, with their venomous tongue and false niceties. they’re known for nothing but being a thoroughly nasty creature to encounter, but they don’t care. they own this life, after all, and only exist for themselves.
