Profile

a tormented soul, only recently freed from captivity. massimo is rumored to have come into existence after being summoned by druids, as a servant of morrigan. well whatever the hell started it, he sure didn’t ask for any of this. in the span of a few centuries, a castle came and crumbled where his holy grounds once stood, and he haunted the halls of the irish leap castle for all this time. leap castle was a brutal place — it was a place where mercenaries and innocents came to die, filling the building with vengeful spirits. once, massimo was a relatively small elemental spirit. but threats were large and always looming, so he had to step up and become more powerful. and powerful he indeed became; massimo became a towering demon, only barely fitting inside the cramped halls of the castle, and hating every minute of his existence.

when the populace fled the castle for the haunting became too great, he ripped himself from his spectral chains, and fled for the hills.

somehow, the poor wretch was lucky enough to find somebody to kindly escort him to a safer place. or, well, safer… he is very much living in the woods, fending off various feral creatures. but in all honesty? big, open caves are much more comfortable to old massimo than built homes. he is half beast, after all, and spent most of his life in an incredibly claustrophobic brick maze. he’s living the good life over here! though, the moisture is starting to get really bad for his wool…

in truth, massimo is the gentlest of giants. the creature has seemingly infinite patience, and as timid as he may be, he is quite approachable. he doesn’t necessarily avoid contact with other sapient creatures; he is simply strictly nocturnal, and people don’t particularly have the habit to stalk hexenring forest at night. much less enter caves. though he has little interest in participating in modern society, massimo still helps out every once a while. forestside farmers and animal herders can thank massimo for a lack of snooping animals and other predators; he stalks the countryside quite frequently, scaring off any scoundrel that sneaks onto people’s properties. he may even help carry off produce, should he be in a fine mood. you’re not very likely to spot him, though!
