cosme’s shitty boyfriend. arguably a complete waste of space, if you didn’t know what he used to be up to. kotone spent the majority of his life being slippery, either escaping from authorities or heinous criminals. kotone has been part of organized crime for about as long as he could walk. starting as nothing more than a cutpurse, kotone spent his younger years eventually doing errands for thugs in the skeevier parts of their town. tanuki communities are close-banded, but often lack official authorities, leading to… less savory people, taking it upon themselves to keep order. since then, kotone has been passed from family to family as a mercenary, but eventually got in… a little more trouble than he’d liked. the only way he could escape with all his fingers intact, was to flee the planet alltogether.
he’s been laying low in fogmere ever since. he’s a terror in the streets and the wilds, walking around peddling (stolen) goods he got from his travels. the only difference is that people no longer drop dead as the result of his sales, so really, it’s a good life. for the vast majority of the time, he simply lazes around cosme’s apartment. he purposely puts up a cheerful, easy-going front, to hide his incredible cunning. to anybody other than cosme, kotone is that goofy guy that often sits doing absolutely nothing on the couch over at cosme's apartment. to anybody who knows him longer than a day, he's a highly dangerous, and even selfish individual, that cares for his own needs first and others second. it's a good thing he has a soft spot for loved ones and family, or cosme would have reduced him to a stain on the pavement years ago. really, the wit and sleight of hand of a thousand years still is nothing compared to the threat of a very spicy potential ex boyfriend.
