The Dollmaker

Somewhere in a locked room, a man works tirelessly for the entertainment of others.

The creator of all Gem-Fighters, and by extension Gem-Fights, is known to all only as the Dollmaker. Everything else about this man is shrouded in mystery, even his existence is subject to scrutiny. What is the true identity of this mystery man? If it's even one singular man! Is it you? Is it me? Is he watching me right now..? Who can tell, and who can know..?

Physical Description:

 

No one has ever seen The Dollmaker in person. He's described and referred to as a man, but no one is sure how old.

His personal apperance is a complete and total mystery. What's his hair color? His eye color? His race? His favorite color? We can never know, it seems...

Dollmaker makes no public apperances, but yet still has a hand in the Gem-Fight process. When Dollmaker has to have a public avatar, they do so through their Puppet--a robotic humanoid constuct which they control and type through in order to speak to others. This robot is an incredibly tall, spry invention with a CRT Television for a head. It's very cute, and has become almost a mascot of sorts for Gem-Fights! It's one of the two hands of the Dollmaker (the other being V).

Do you think he's ever seen the sun; do you think he's heard of it? Do you think he'd leave his room if his house was on fire?

Personality:

 

A few judgement calls have to be made here, since so little is known about the Dollmaker. However, I think it's safe to say that he's a very isolated person.

Solitary and worryingly quiet a times, it seems like Dollmaker has some intense problems with communication. Socialization seems to be a lacking trait, and his withdrawl from society appears to be the result of it. Is his isolation part of his act? Is it a result of anxiety? What are his wishes; what are his goals? The man is a complete and total mystery, one that even V has been unable to decode. 

If one can garner anything from the Puppet's sayings, its that The Dollmaker seems to have a real love of what they do. Gem-Fighters, Gem-Fights, it's all for the sake of other people's happiness. Who knows if that's genuine or not, but I think it's clear to see that Dollmaker's dedication could easily serve as proof. He draws new designs every day, and comes up with new storylines and ideas for his sport. He cares deeply about the satisfaction of the audience, and would hate to see them unhappy. 

But despite this deep wish of his, he's detached. He needs his Puppet and V to interact with anyone and carry out his wishes. Although he's created an incredible empire on his own, and started an infectious craze, he's emotionally distant and trapped. He's permenantly watching from the window as the world passes buy around him. I wonder if he cares about that? I wonder if he pity's himself..?

It has recently come to the Dollmaker's attention that a long-forgotten liability has reared his head. That boy from eight years ago has returned, and the knowledge he possess is dangerous. Fearing exposure and other consequences, Dollmaker sends V to dispose of the boy. He will not ruin years of careful planning. It must be done, for the sake of everyone's futures--for the preservation of all their smiles...

Strengths & Weaknesses:

 

Dollmaker's anonymity is his greatest weapon. Does he even exist? Is he watching? Does he know about you? Dollmaker creates a lot of paranoia among Gem-Fighters, especially the survivng ones. It seems like they're preprogrammed to cower at his name...this sadistic creator that brought them into the world to die. His aura is intense.

But despite this, he's detached. He's confined, trapped in a room somewhere. How much can he really know? Sure he's got his Puppet, and he's got V, but Dollmaker is in no way as omnipotent as he wishes he was...
