"Angel Game"—a game where you'll be able to use certain powers within your own ability, by having a rune circle in the left palm of your hand—and then you will gain the power to control elements in real life, something that no other humans can do.
However, one important rule before "playing" the game is that you must fit just one criteria—where all wielders of this power are all required to have a certain "misfortune" in life. One single bad luck occurs to you and changed your entire life; that's the proof that you're truly eligible to participate and obtain the powers of "Angel Game", even if against your own will.
As simple as it sounds, Angel Game have indeed, changed people's life, for better or for the worst, that the world often debates on either it's a blessing or a curse by the Angels. Some would say it's the gift for the unfortunates, some would say it's the source of all these misfortunes...it's almost paradoxical that nobody knows if the world would become better or worst without it--even if the government is trying to promote it as a mere "Game"...

1ST GAME: ETERNAL EINHERJAR
When Vikings fell in battle, Valkyries would revive them as Einherjar in order for them to fight until the war ended... Because of the said resemblance in story and theory, that is why Angel Gamers are called as the modern-day Einherjars.
After facing her greatest misfortune, it was only a matter of time before Kokoro discovered the existence of "Angel Game". However, she begins to realise all other Angel Gamers are either friend or foe, all sharing the same tragedy: having their own "fortunes" sacrificed...
The beginning arc focusing on Tamahara Town: a small, peaceful town finally holding its first Angel Game tournament...
2ND GAME: MISSING HEAVEN
Is fighting the only option left? What are we fighting for, and why must it cost our own fortunes? Believe it or not, Angel Gamers are not the same as Angels...because people believed not all of them should belong in Heaven...
There are still many questions surrounding the true purpose of being an Angel Gamer, and Kokoro resolves to uncover the truth with the help of her friends. She finally meets the Gamers considered "enemies", only to find they're students from St. Angel, an Angel Gaming boarding school..? Meanwhile, Kureha searches for the meaning of his "existence"...
The middle/development arc that focuses on characters from Kasagiri City, specifically the students of St. Angel--a school built on the principle that that Angel Gamers are nothing but corrupted warriors, that exist only to fight.
In addition, this is the first arc in which Kokoro and Kureha alternate as the main protagonist, with their own independent stories and viewpoints separated.3RD GAME: COUNTDOWN TO RAGNAROK
When the Ruler leads everyone to their destined path, and the Reaper decides who lives or dies, that is when the battle begins. The reason for the Einherjars' existence comes to light with the rumored final war... Ragnarok.
Does this cursed Angel Game exist to mirror mythology...? Nobody knows, and everyone fears what the reality may be. However, with time quickly running out, our protagonists are still trying to pursue the truth and learn the real reason behind the Game's existence. Meanwhile, the honorary Kings from St. Angel are preparing for war..?
The final arc focuses on the Student Council of St. Angel, the group deciding the future of the world's first and only Angel Gamer school, as the school plans on revolutionizing Angel Game as mankind's newest weapon... Meanwhile, Kokoro tries to reach the organization behind "Angel Game", and Kureha discovers the truth behind his misfortune...
