After withering away into his corrupted state, the mage Linkoln has become a swirling dune of bone dust, gaining size and speed as it tears across Ivras. The shapes of canine faces and gnashing teeth roll out of the top of this swirling white storm, lashing out as the dust swallows everything around it.

If the sand-like dust spreads out thinly enough, Linkoln's vulnerable skeleton can be seen at its core, a fragile target holding the violent cloud together.

The dune is surrounded by a cyclone of swirling air, powerful enough to damage structures and bury its surroundings in dust. It smothers the landscape as it goes by, potentially trapping monster hunters inside a crushing, choking windstorm.

The bone dust flying around inside its form wears down the surfaces of anything it touches, and jagged shards of bone lash out from within it, piercing those who get close.

Vast and swift, the storm of bone dust is rolling across the Whispering Sea, devastating the cities and villages that dot the countryside, and howling towards Faline at great speed.

monster combat bonuses

Due to poor visibility, this monster is dangerous to fight alone. Attacks from two mages working in a pair deal+1 damage.
Attacking from a distance or using an Elemental Blast Scroll deal +1 damage.
Those with an Extended Telekinesis Scroll deal +1 damage.
Attacking while in flight deals +1 damage.
Mages with wind/air powers are at an advantage, and deal 2x damage.
Mages with sound-based or music-based powers are at a disadvantage, and deal ½x damage .

Attacks for this hunt should be posted here. The event runs at least two weeks, and then ends when the monster's HP is lowered to 0.

prompt one: rising wind

Your character is in a small village called Sheystead in the grasslands of central Ivras. As they pick their way through the crowd at a street market, they make note of the fabric awnings and banners around town being buffeted by gusts of wind. The sunny summer weather is at odds with the steadily strengthening wind; your character looks down at their feet and sees the sandy soil of the dirt road shifting, sliding away as if caught in a stream.

As their clothes blow around them, they hear distant voices in the crowd crying out. Looking up, they see a column of swirling white, growing tall on the edge of the village, rising above the rooftops and swirling into a distinct but undulating form. The wind howls, almost like a wolf, as a blast of sand whips through the market, decimating a line of stalls and sending pedestrians flying. The crowd begins to panic, screaming and fleeing what is certainly no ordinary dust storm.

The intelligent sandstorm rages on. As your character is whipped, tossed, and blinded by wind and grit, they hear the gut-wrenching sound of wood tearing. The crack of splitting timbers is sickening as buildings around your character unravel into the sky, unable to withstand the monster.

The town of Sheystead is splintering apart. Howling gusts smother the cries of other survivors as flying debris makes both fighting and flight seem like perilous prospects. However, this once sleepy hamlet is being destroted, piece by piece. If your character is not careful, they could end up completely trapped in the wreckage that was once a village.
