As we all know, life doesn't stop after your 20s. But it's not too common to see characters who are 30+ Show me your characters who are a little older then the norm.
- Are they content with how they're living now? - What do they think of who they were in the past compared to now?
Rules:
-No immortals. I mean characters living a lifespan.
Faulkes is 37! He refers to himself as 'an old sea dog,' but he's hardly even middle aged, and has plenty of life left to look forward to.
Honestly, he hasn't changed much over the past couple decades, aside from a few extra wrinkles and a few more lovers lost... but he's happier now than he ever has been before.

But yea I've got 2 characters who are 30+ but the other one is less developed I guess?? I just started writing stories for them. So ill talk about the more developed one whose name is Brandon Callisto, he's 34!
-Right so he's basically dead. He's stuck in a time loop (that everyone in the world/story experiences not just him) that resets every one year where everyone dies and then time resets. The only way to escape this supposed time loop is that he and only him gets killed (but it doesn't really stop it and his death is just the first step to stopping the time loop). His significant other Umbra (my other OC that is less developed and basically the MC of the story, he's 36) is the sort of "vessel" of this time loop , if he dies time will also reset to the beginning of the reset point. Brandon is aware of his fate of dying basically forever for the sake of humanity and accepts this but is living a happy life with Umbra and plans to marry him in the near future already thinking about their future wedding (that never happens because Umbra kills him for the story).
-When he was younger he was raised in this sort of cult thing. Always praising him and talking about his fate (which is the fate of his death lol for the sake of the time loop) and he eventually escaped when the cult was burnt to the ground and basically disbanded thats all I have right now of him lmao.

Sidney is I think my only character who actually has art that makes him look his age. He's in his early 50s, and is one of my oldest characters period tbh (excluding my many immortal gods/monsters)
I also have Vance who is 32 and Archer who is 37- their art does a pretty poor job of representing this because a lot of it is of their animal forms, and I'm chronically bad at drawing older people. Archer has always kinda seemed prematurely aged- premature greying hair for no other reason than genetics said fuck you and a whole lot of stress will do that to ya. Vance is a bit of an enigma in that he both comes across as incredibly young because of his stupid dress sense and incredibly immature personality, and at the same time, is also pretty fucking weathered and hardened by what he's been through.
Others who are on the older side compared to my mostly teen-to-20-somethings cast: Corvus, who. whilst immortal, has a human form that appears in his early 30s, Jack who is also in his 50s but I have no human art of just yet, Millie + Steph who start their story as young adults freshly flying the nest and as things presently stand are probably in their 40s, and Cirrus, who also doesn't have any humanoid art or even a canon age because I haven't given much thought to it, but has a 17 year old daughter so he's for sure on the older side.
I'm gonna feature MH!Prisma because she's 32
She's not completely satisfied with her life. She got screwed out of her dream career of being a blacksmith and took on the job of a hunter because she didn't know where else to go. But she doesn't let the career-shift bother her anymore. Still looks at hunting as just a job, but not as a 'replacement' job ig
Honorable mention to reg. Prisma because she's a robot/ageless, but she's implied to be in her 30's
I haven't decided Lily's age, but I know for sure I wanted her to be 30+.
She has changed a lot since her childhood, keeping a closed heart and focused on her job.
She's a prosecutor working for the government. She still haven't made amends with her family yet.
I also have Aurora, who's a mother to a single child, and is also the chief of a village.
She's almost forty, but her magic is still unrivalled in the kingdom she lives in.
Kiyo is a shrine priestess and has an adoptive daughter. She's mostly busy with her duties.
Now and then, she's still fairly the same, but she'll never be truly content in life.

Nico is 54 yrs old, though that's the only thing older about him lol. He's (and his family name is) super rich so he doesn't need a job. He's a pianist; he's extremely good at playing the piano ever since he was a kid. He loves travelling to different places and finding fun things to do. He's a really active guy in that regard. He's really great with his servants and other ppl who's worked for his family for many years.
Tbh the way he is now isn't that much different than him in say, high school or something lol. He's probably gotten a bit wiser (???) lol. He def has more freedom to do whatever he wants now though, and he's able to express himself more freely too.
Helori is a half-elf so they aren't quite as aged as their years imply, but they're 97! Which is roughly equivalent to middle-aged. They're not malcontent with their life now but they find themself lost after some big life changes, unsure what to do after so long living with the same responsibilities, and instead finding new burdens to take on to fill the void.
I also have a good handful of others, too! Just a few of them:
Jeremiah - 47, a single father of two. He doesn't like to think too much about how his life had progressed, just taking things one day at a time and working to keep everyone around him happy.
Phaedre - 59, queen of a large kingdom. She has less thoughts about her own past than that of her kingdom in general, focusing on righting the wrongs done by previous generations of rulers, as their history and reputation now reflects on her, and her own children.
Koss - 46, an unwitting leader of a small crew of mechanics in a post-apocalyptic city. She doesn't think much about her own age, as the passage of time is difficult to track in a broken world, but she does notice now and then that she has less energy than she used to. Helping to keep the city running is her priority, however.
Aibel - 50s, though she appears much younger via supernatural means; a sky pirate captain and head of a vast fleet. She finds her own impulsive self of her younger years amusing, as much as she curses her own actions. She would never wish to go back to that level of recklessness, but she has yet to lose the spark of ambition that gained her the position she now has.
Azucar - somewhere in their 30s, a mad scientist and recent PhD holder. They have hardly aged emotionally since their 20s, so there's not too much to contrast there!
Madison died in her 30's, does that count? lol.
