Crystal

Huffing as she looked around the almost magical feeling cave, if only Alicia was here on better terms. The breeze that washed through the cave left her shivering, rubbing her exposed arms  as her four eyes looked around for any possible ways out. All she could see for now was her reflection in the crystal clear glass, mirroring her unhappy face back to her. It only displeased her more, no matter how beautiful the crystals shone and were in the clean cave.

She had gone into town to get supplies, not a common sight to begin with and one she was hoping would go unseen as last time she was there some things were destroyed. She couldn’t help that her nature was chaotic and destructive, or that’s what she told herself anyways. But alas, someone did recognize her, and they chased her into the caves she wandered now. She was thinking about turning back, but every now and then she heard some of the townsfolk’s voices echo in and she was trying to turn over a new leaf once again. One day she’d live this more ‘normal’ life she heard passing travelers talk about, but today wasn’t that day.

Shivering again, she was getting used to the coldness at least, withdrawing a hand from her tucked arms to rub over the smooth surface in front of her, careful to avoid any jagged edges as she did so. The crystals were beautiful, mostly translucent with a tint of color to them. Humming to herself, she found some of the longer and thinner ones, slightly surprised when she could so easily snap them as she wanted to.

The least she could do was take some of these back with her, as souvenirs of her stupidity. Not that she’d tell anyone that, for others, they would just be beautiful trinkets she found on her way home. Not like they needed to know that truth, that was far too personal of information.
