Iso's OC Question of the Day

Posted 8 years, 4 months ago (Edited 6 years, 10 months ago) by Isoprene

Listen, there's nothing I love more than answering random questions about my OCs and seeing other people answer random questions about their OCs. Conveniently, I also love coming up with random questions and asking them. So, hey, why not make it a daily event? In this thread I'll post a question every day, all of them related to OCs! Sometimes it'll be about your feelings about your OCs ("who's your favorite oc?" or "who was your first oc?") and sometimes it'll be questions asked toward your OCs themselves ("what are your ocs' favorite colors?" or "would your ocs rather fight one horse-sized duck or 100 duck-sized horses?"). You can answer in-character or out of character, answer for multiple characters or just one, whatever you want!

I'll try to ask these early in the day, and you're always welcome to answer any ones that you've missed! Feel free to answer as many as you want at once; just be sure to label which question you're answering! I also have a huge list of questions waiting in the wings, but if you have any questions you'd like to see asked feel free to message me and I'll credit and ping you if I end up using your question!

Q1. Who was the first OC you made a profile for on Toyhouse? Why them?

The first OC I made a profile for here was Dicro Corrune! He's the most well-known OC of mine amongst my friends (most of my friends don't have a lot of profiles up yet but he'd have the most links), is probably my most important character overall even though I have like 50 different OC universes and he's only connected to a few, and if he's not my favorite OC overall he's pretty darn close. There's a lot of me in him, too, so I feel like putting him up first provides a decent insight into both the kind of person I am and the kind of characters you'll probably see from me. Plus he has the most images, the most writing, is the most fun to RP with, and is one of my oldest active OCs... it was an obvious choice for me!

Q35. If you could meet one of your OCs, who would you pick? ...But this time, they know that you created them and you've put them through everything they've gone through (or at least allowed it and didn't retcon it), for better or worse. If your answer is the same as the last question still, how do you think your chosen OC(s) would react to the knowledge that you've been controlling their life to some extent?

Oh, I'd still pick Neoka, and it wouldn't change since he already seems to know how much garbage I've been putting him through. :P He's a big bucket of angst even without me saying I'm the cause of it. I don't think it would change anything if he didn't know and then I told him. My world is very... strange. There's usually some odd sense of a lot of the powerful characters are aware of the scatterbrained Creator of the universe, and then all the more normal people would likely react the way most people would if they met their creator.

Neoka is obviously one of those people that will cringe at half-assed similes that describe what he's doing at the moment. He at least plays along with the over the top ones though, like "Face and palm came together like the departing evening sun and the horizon," or my personal favorite, "Before I could walk back to the circle, the door and my face met like two lovers running to embrace each other on an amber skied beach after searching the world for each other for fifteen years but they both ended up tripping on seaweed and breaking their noses against each others’ faces… because a delivery boy threw it open and waltzed in." Imagine reading that story out loud to a birthday party. Boy oh boy the ridiculousness I put him through. He probably wouldn't appreciate it, but he's a good sport. XD

Q36. If you had to be stuck in one of your stories/universes, which one would you pick? Which one would you least want to be stuck in? If you only have one, how would you feel about being stuck there?

(This one assumes none of your OCs know who you are!)

Well, out of the universes I have folders for here my choices are murder planet, pretty cool place when you ignore the divine oppression and upcoming revolution, extremely chaotic and unsafe dimensional crossroads, pretty much just straight-up Hell with a lot of demons who eat people, isolated dimension in which an unstoppable goddess forces everyone within it to kill each other over and over, basically just Earth but also Hell sometimes and everyone is sort of in love with each other, a world linked to almost all others that's full of cool people but also bound to be destroyed again soon, and Earth with some weird supernatural stuff going down.

I think I'm gonna go with Poly Hell on this one. No one dies or really tries to kill anyone there (probably) and it's full of wacky demonic dating sim misadventures! Seems like a sweet deal to me! Adoptverse is the one I'd want to be stuck in the least, because I wouldn't last very long or have much fun on a planet full of intergalactic criminals.

Q36. If you had to be stuck in one of your stories/universes, which one would you pick? Which one would you least want to be stuck in? If you only have one, how would you feel about being stuck there?

The vast majority of my stories take place in the same universe of sorts, but a lot of the stories are separated by planets... so... hm... Out of the folders I have set up at the moment, I'd have to say I'd rather be stuck in... uh, this one. This is the world for my story L.A.M.E. the Musical (or the Not-Musical when in written form). It's basically Earth just with people breaking into song and dance every hour or so. Sounds kind of boring maybe, but after judging all my other stories, it's the safest because there's no horrendous wars going on. XD Plus, I can dig random musical numbers in my life.

As for the one I'd want to be stuck in the least, I'd have to say either my stories of Minarai or Of the Enlightened. I don't wanna be stuck in a dark book where horrible creature abound all over the place and there's basically no escape and no real safety. And I also don't want to have anything to do with the Enlightened, because that would mean I'm either drafted with the bad guys with the mission to bring everyone under the same order or I'd basically be dead. XD Some people might find being a bad guy fun, but no, I'm not that immoral where I'd find working for an organization that razes towns and drafts or kills everyone to be enjoyable.

Q36. If you had to be stuck in one of your stories/universes, which one would you pick? Which one would you least want to be stuck in? If you only have one, how would you feel about being stuck there?

I WANT TO GO TO MAGIC SCHOOL

So yeah, that one. It's about the only universe I have that doesn't have some kind of tragic things happening to its characters?? (Yet. Yet is the key word here.)

The one I would absolutely not want to be stuck in would be the one Alum and Dyablio are in. Man, I don't want to deal with radiation and zombies and all that end-of-the-world shit. It's too rough of a place to be, especially if you're a squishy human who can 100% not survive in a post-apocalyptic world. I'd be dead in like five minutes.

i love hearing about all of your stories... man you guys have some cool stuff B)

Q37. Which OC of yours is the worst with technology? If none of your OCs live in a world with very advanced technology, who would probably be the worst with it if they did?

Laejizhar is just terrible with any form of technology that doesn't involve cooking, and sometimes he gets tripped up even then. He understands magic and the demonic arts just fine, but put a computer in front of him and he'll have 50 toolbars in two minutes if he can figure out how to get to the internet in the first place. Fortunately he doesn't really need any newfangled technology to live his lifestyle, but whenever he's confronted with it he has to get help from his son or one of his friends. No matter how many times people teach him to do simple things like check his e-mail or look something up, it just doesn't really stick with him.

Oh god uh...

This is hard when a lot of my universes don't have a lot of technology... all of my mafia boys are fine with it, and then the most technologically advanced world doesn't have anyone who's particularly bad with it... BUT THEN you just look at my yōkai characters and I'm just like... I wouldn't be able to let most of them near a piece of technology ever.

BUT if I had to choose one character who would be the worst, it'd be Crow. He'd probably just end up breaking everything. Not even out of frustration. But out of sheer lack of... knowing what the heckie to do with things like computers or cell phones. I'm actually doing a modern AU of him and it's like "well he probably doesn't even own a cell phone or computer tbqh, he gets his friends to call others for him". He's strong too and he's just not good with things that break really easily...

I couldn't answer yesterday's question :') ahaha... They all live in the same universe

Q37. Which OC of yours is the worst with technology? If none of your OCs live in a world with very advanced technology, who would probably be the worst with it if they did?

Probably Iskalon and Io, Ishra too but she doesn't have a profile yet, they have lived a long time for sure, but none of it really involved technology. And being demons they don't have the technology in their native society or any equivalent. They all do with magic and probably thing the idea of phones or computers to be weird. If any of them were put on a computer or other devises, they might end up breaking it because of lack of knowledge on the medium. They all also would find little to no use for technology and thus refuse to learn anything about it.

There's a buttload of my characters that aren't that good or don't like technology because they live in more magic-centric areas, but if I had to choose from people that live in technological places, I'd say Riley is one of the less tech savvy folks. The only technologies he's fine with are cars and other tools that don't require much interface. When it comes to computers or smartphones or whatever he tends to let his wife or kids handle it. Another character that's not good with technology would be Spencer. I need to work more on his profile, but even though the world he lives in is technological, he lives in a demon razed town where there is no technology. He's been taught that technology is evil and the greatest threat to him, so he's very apprehensive around machines or electricity fueled devices. He won't even touch anything remotely technological, even if it's broken.

Q38. Which of your OCs is the most gullible?

This one goes to Thyx. He doesn't get sarcasm, exaggeration, and always sees the best in others, so he'll believe pretty much anything you tell him even if you're blatantly untrustworthy! Even after finding out someone lied to him or otherwise tricked him, he'll usually still trust them again later. He bounces back pretty quickly, for better or worse.

Though, if your trickery ends with some innocent person getting hurt, he'll probably see you as the eeeeevil villain you are and stop trusting you. Maybe. Potentially. Listen, he's not the greatest judge of character.

Q38. Which of your OCs is the most gullible?

Naquisae... for sure. He grew up super sheltered by his family and just doted on by his siblings all of the time. He tends to not think twice about what people tell him, which is why it's a good thing he has others looking out for him HAHA.

miricca

Q38. Which of your OCs is the most gullible?

Willa, by far. She's extremely naive and her natural trust in people leads her to think people would never lie and blindly follow and trust. She also hasn't experienced much of society and believes in everyone is good on the inside.

TheLadyAnatola

Q38. Which of your OCs is the most gullible?

A handful of my characters could qualify as gullible, but most are just trusting of certain people. For example, Jasper will believe pretty much anything Lee or Conner tells him, no matter how ridiculous it might be. But they're nice enough that they won't try to trick him. It's taken them a while to teach him what sarcasm is, which led to it taking a while for him to realize he can't believe everything that Fathom says, since he's rather sarcastic at times. Quite a bit of scolding from his other bandmates have led Fathom to being more straightforward with Jazz so they don't confuse him.

Bebe is a bit of an airhead at times and can be a little gullible, but especially so toward her two mentors, Maranda and Mini. She considers them the expects, so she'll take their word for anything. Maranda is always professional and reliable though, but Mini is a totally jokester and will take advantage of her trust for non-serious pranks and such.

My, however, is the most gullible airhead on the planet. An entire conflict in L.A.M.E. the Musical/Not-Musical stems from the fact that she's dumb enough to get into a car with some random stranger that totally looks like a criminal/thug type just because he said it's fine. But of course she was way too much of a headache for him and he ends up abandoning ship. Lucky her, she gets by on literal dumb luck. XD
