CREACHER #90. MARSHFOLK

MARSHFOLK.png

ABOUT

"Marshfolk are an intelligent species of creacher that live in Marshes. They hunt in the dark, looking for Mahous to lead astray into the night."

TRIVIA

1. Originating in the Scandinavian parts of LongHua, they’ve since spread to the deep hallowed woods after they got un-petrified

2. The females (Marsh Ladies) use their cauldrons to make a mystery brew. This process creates a thick mist from the cauldron that spreads in a very large area around the MarshLady. The brew makes the Marsh Ladies able to produce mist themselves. Nobody knows exactly what the brew is or what it consists of, as nobody has ever been able to get hold of any.

3. The males (Marsh Men) walk around in the mist their female counterparts create, dressed up as humans, with their lanterns. They beckon for lost Mahous to follow them. Those who go along, hoping to have found a friendly soul to help them find their way home, are never seen again...

4. ... That is, unless you pay them. Place two star coins at the side of the path you're walking, and ask the Marsh Men nicely to light the way home, and they will do just that. They keep the coins they collect in a little purse they have on them at all times.

5. There is no difference between the sexes of these Creachers until they reach adolescence. At that point, they will craft either a lantern or a cauldron, and develop into either a Marsh Lady or a Marsh Man, depending on their choice.

6. Their hair tufts look and feel like strands of dried-out grass.

7. If you were to tame this creacher They do change a bit. The males won’t need payment to help someone through the mist (but it seems to be considered polite to still do so, and it makes them happy, so) and the females are often tamed to assist in potion brewing! They’re excellent at that. The tamed ones don’t ever brew the mist-brew though… Maybe they need super specific ingredients to do that, maybe they want to keep it secret.
