Hollie Ellington
About
Hollie is an up-tight, prissy sociology professor and hobbyist writer. She is very quiet, level-headed, mild-mannered, and smart. She's also a bit domineering and highly values leadership. Because of this, she tends to take charge in her friend group, usually taking the position as the group's leader. She likes to make decisions and generally call the shots. However, despite her affinity for leading, she definitely is not an overbearing leader, or anything close to that. She tries her best to be understanding, sympathetic, and above all, fair.
Her extreme hunger for leading comes from her unhappiness with her job. As wonderful as the pay is (at her job, anyways), she hates the fact that she has to listen to the commands of other people. She isn't on the board of her university's humanities department, so she can't really have much authority unless she climbed the ladder... which she easily could do, but she would much rather focus on writing. She much prefers to be the one calling the shots. She wants to turn her writing hobby into a career, but as of right now, she can't really do that. All of her family members do something in the sociology field, and they expect her to do the same, so writing fictional literature is almost out of the question. For now, Hollie is trying to find a way to combine her love for literature and skill in sociology.

Hollie hails from a rich family, all of whom have found great success in sociological fields. Some of her family members, in fact, are academically influential people. Because of this, Hollie has had it instilled into her that she is destined for greatness. In her schooling, good grades came easily to her. She breezed through school with excellent grades, a wonderful GPA, and an easy time in university. In her home life, she received everything she wanted, whenever she wanted it, making her standards ridiculously high. It really seemed like she had everything... but the one thing she was missing was friends. She had an extremely small social circle, consisting of her family (most of them not being her age) and one friend, Penny... who she often tried to avoid. Penny was her only friend, sure, but she was so... weird.
Present
Now, Hollie works at the university she graduated from. She is respected by her students, but the humanities board at her school is not as... nice. It really frustrates her, but all she can do is grin and bear it. She wants to publish her writings, considering she's the only person who has a say in what she writes, so it's nice to have that authority. She'll get there eventually, of course, but she has to work for it. In terms of her social life, she's expanded her social circle... but only by a bit. She and Penny became closer and closer... and now they're married. And with that, Hollie has been inducted into Penny's own social circle. She finds them all to be pretty weird, but she's happy to have such a nice group of friends anyways.

Penny Löfgren-Cremona [ Wife ]
Hollie's wife and best friend... and only friend, for a while. Hollie and Penny were childhood friends, and growing up, Hollie was a bit reclusive. In fact, their friendship was actually a bit one-sided -- Penny was very friendly, and Hollie was very cranky. Unfortunately for her, said crankiness did nothing to deter Penny from being friends with Hollie. She never got the message, so the pair just ended up getting closer and closer. As teenagers, they began to develop romantic feelings for each other, and before they knew it, they married in their early 20s. Since then, they've raised Penny's little sister, supported each other on everything, and generally have been as close as they could. After all, they are each other's first love.
Delilah Löfgren-Cremona [ Younger Sister in-law ]
Penny's little sister. The sisters' father died before Delilah's birth, and their mother followed suit only a few months after Delilah was born. Because of this, Penny was essentially forced to raise her little sister, which Hollie decided to join her in. While raising baby Delilah, things were difficult, but there wasn't much friction. Now, however, as Delilah grew older, tensions between her and Hollie are starting to intensify. Hollie cares about Delilah's education, house rules, and all those "boring" things, whereas Delilah just wants to run around and have fun. Hollie doesn't mind Delilah's opposition, knowing that she'll eventually come around, but Delilah isn't a huge fan of Hollie's rules. She doesn't hate Hollie or anything, she just really does not like her strictness.
Reese Lyndon [ Friend ]
Penny's girlfriend. Hollie sees Reese quite often, considering they're always hanging out with Penny when they can. Hollie is a bit apprehensive around Reese, but they really like her. A lot. Hollie likes Reese too, recognizing their kindheartedness, creativity, and... attractiveness? Maybe it's because Reese hangs out with Hollie's wife a lot, but Hollie can't help but feel some sort of attraction to Reese too. She isn't sure if she'll actually admit it, but if Reese confesses, so will Hollie.
Gabby Rutherford [ Acquaintance ]
Penny and Reese's friend, making them Hollie's acquaintance by extension. Hollie isn't sure how she should feel around Gabby, and they aren't sure how they should feel around Hollie. They probably would get alone rather well, but their opposites in aesthetics are really getting in the way -- they are, as people say, judging a book by its cover. Hollie thinks Gabby is a delinquent judging by their personal style, and Gabby thinks Hollie is stuck up which she kind of is because of her personal style (and mannerisms). However, with the influence of Penny and Reese, Hollie and Gabby will likely end up getting along.
Valerie Rutherford [ Acquaintance ]
Gabby's younger sister. Hollie sees her quite often, but rarely is a word spoken between them. While Hollie can easily recognize Valerie's polite, mild personality, she also strongly disapproves of her personal style as well. Valerie is fearful of Hollie, so she does whatever she can to keep their little chats to a minimum.
Flo Alexandria [ Acquaintance ]
Penny's rival from a different modeling agency. Hollie has heard of Flo's reputation, and frankly, she disapproves of it greatly. She thinks Flo's lifestyle is much too wild, but it's not like there's anything that can be done. She's completely unaware of Flo's jealousy toward her, which is honestly for the better -- if she knew, things would probably get bitter very fast.
