About

Virginia is very shy, anxious, and awkward. It's very hard for her to speak to people she doesn't know, but she does her absolute best. She's very quiet when she speaks, due to her nagging fear of messing up her words, not making any sense, or any other random reason that her mind comes up with. However, when Virginia is around her sibling and friends, she isn't very shy, anxious, or awkward at all -- she acts like your typical extrovert, as a matter of fact. She's silly, a bit loud, and quite outgoing. She tends to spend her time with her close ones, usually by watching anime, playing video games, or simply just having silly conversations with them.

As for Virginia's career, this may sound surprising due to their crippling shyness, but they're actually a concert pianist. They can't talk to people for the life of them, yet they have little issue with playing piano for loads and loads of people. In their mind, it's rather easy because playing piano doesn't require talking to people, which is added onto the fact that most people who attend their concerts want to see them play -- they paid for the tickets after all. Virginia's skill in piano has taken them pretty far in life, and they're overjoyed that they've had the opportunity to make a career out of their musical passion.

Backstory

Past

Virginia's childhood and teen years were rather rough. She had a good-yet-interesting home life, being raised by a single mother (though she occasionally stayed with her father for a month -- her parents may had been divorced, but they still had a relatively friendly relationship). Her mother was a concert pianist herself, which sparked Virginia's own interest in playing piano. She admired her mother's skill, so she took up piano to follow her mother's footsteps. Her father, on the other hand, was a doctor, and although he traveled a lot, he still loved the fact that Virginia had a passion for music like her mother.

However, what made Virginia's childhood and teen years rough was her schooling. She wasn't very bright in academics, and as you'd expect, she was incredibly shy as a child, which made her an unfortunately large target for bullying. She was bullied relentlessly as a child, and despite her parents' efforts to contact the school staff, they did little to help Virginia. From her first day of kindergarten to her graduation day, the only thing that Virginia found solace was her passion (piano, of course), and hobbies.

However, starting in her late childhood, Virginia had one friend: her younger sibling Victory. Virginia's mother and stepfather wanted to have a child of their own, and Virginia so desperately wanted a younger sibling, so when Virginia was 11, Vic was born. Even though they were only a baby, Virginia loved them. They were practically inseparable, and Virginia greatly cared for them. However, as Vic grew older, they began to be the one caring for Virginia -- they have always been a pretty rambunctious child, which made them feel like they needed to be protective of their meek sister.

Present

Now, in adulthood, Virginia has made a living out of their passion for piano. They're a popular concert pianist now, and they live alone with their little sibling Vic. The two siblings kind of work as a team -- Virginia being the more responsible one, while Vic kind of acts like their voice. When Virginia is too shy to speak, Vic does the talking. Meanwhile, since Vic is still a young teenager, Virginia is the one to provide for them and ensure that their needs are met. They really worry for Vic a lot, which is somewhat made worse by Vic's tendency to go out exploring alone.

Victory Flores-Desrosiers [ Younger Sibling ]

Virginia's younger sibling. She absolutely adores Vic, and they absolutely adore her. As previously mentioned, the two siblings kind of work together as a team. Virginia provides for Vic, whereas Vic does what they can to speak for Virginia, be it ordering food, making phone calls, and anything else similar. Virginia appreciates that Vic does what they can to help her, and Vic is really happy to have such an awesome older sister. There's just one thing the two tend to disagree on: Vic is very outdoorsy and adventurous, so they love to run around and explore. Virginia hates when they run around unsupervised -- she can't keep up with them, so they often lose track of them while they wander. It freaks Virginia out so much.

Daisy Joy [ Friend

Daisy is a fellow musician, who met Virginia while out busking. Daisy loves to play her guitar and ukulele in the street, and by chance, she came across Virginia playing a street piano (at the request of Vic). Daisy was surprised at Virginia's skill, so she began to duet with them. Since then, the two became fast friends -- they hang out quite often and support their musical endeavors. Virginia frequently joins Daisy at the pedestrian mall to watch her busk, whereas Daisy hasn't missed one of Virginia's concerts since they became friends.

Martha I. Deneva "Lalalacrimosa" Noah [ Friend

A fellow member of the League. Virginia and Martha get along REALLY well -- Virginia is very shy and doesn't enjoy conversations very much, so the ever-empathetic Martha really understands this. The two spend a lot of time with each other, partaking in their more quiet hobbies. Martha eventually asked Virginia if she'd accompany her on stage and play piano for one of her poem readings. Virginia was a bit apprehensive to play in such a loud, flashy space, but she eventually took the plunge and did it -- and she's absolutely happy that she did. She's very grateful that Martha is such an understanding girl.

Lolly Poplichinelle [ Friend

A fellow member of the League. Virginia was initially a bit wary around Lolly. She made them a bit uneasy with their love of mischief, but Lolly assured her that, as a clown, she wanted to make Virginia happy, not uncomfortable. Virginia was relieved to hear this, and since then, she and Lolly have been pretty good friends!

Robin Banks [ Friend

Another member of the League. Virginia finds Robin's loud, eccentric nature to be rather off-putting, but Robin tries to accomodate for her by being as quiet and gentle as possible around her. Of course, though, despite their differences, Virginia is quite fond of Robin. They're the only person she trusts to repair her recital dress, if needed! She even occasionally plays piano at Robin and Lalalacrimosa's shows, but greatly prefers not to speak in them.
