Dr. Isabella Nikolic
About
Izzy is your typical odd, eccentric mad scientist. From an early age, she has been very interesting in many different branches of biological science, but she had always had a particular interest in (micro)biology, chemistry, and genetics. As a teenager, she had a very strong struggle with being transgender, so she decided that if anything, she should take matters into her own hands. She provided her own HRT and even manually performed her own gender affirmation surgery whilst in university (DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!!). After this experience and earning her doctorate, she began to work hard to do something totally ambitious: build her own human.
Of course, her ambition isn't the only thing she works on. Izzy has made many amazing strides in the biology field, and conducts many (more grounded) experiments. She's been published in many academic journals, alongside her lab assistance Clara. Additionally, Izzy has given many master class lectures, and even held a teaching job at a few universities. Despite all of Izzy's eccentricities, she is an unmistakably intelligent woman.

Backstory
Past
From her childhood, Izzy has always been interested in science. At school, she breezed through her science classes, would always be interested in doing her own experiments at home, and generally had a boundless sense of curiosity. She was able to graduate at the early age of 15, practically testing out of all of her classes. Her college career started at a local community college until she eventually climbed the ranks to a very prestigious research university, with outstanding grades following her along the way. As a transgender teen, she yearned for the ability to physically transition. She wanted to look the exact way she idealized, so as a young adult, she spent her university days working diligently on schoolwork during the day, but at home, she would spend her time making herself into the person she wanted to be. The results of her self-done transition were impossibly flawless, and she was very happy with herself. In the midst of her finishing her self-transition, she had gotten her bachelor's degree, which only further motivated her to pursue her master's degree, then doctorate. After achieving both feats, she began to work in her own private lab with her assistance Clara, whom she loves working with. The two have made many monumental, though unique scientific accomplishments, which she couldn't be more proud of.
Present
Currently, when she isn't giving lectures or working on research for academic journals, Izzy spends her days working on something completely extraordinary: building a human being. She knows it's stupidly ambitious, but she believes she can do it. If she can transition on her own, then surely she could create life on her own, right? She hasn't had any success yet, but she's determined to keep going. She'll stop at nothing to make her dream come true.

Clara and Izzy met at one of the master classes Izzy gave a lecture at. Clara was so bright and intelligent, Izzy couldn't help but pull her aside and give her an offer she couldn't refuse: a job. She thought that Clara's intelligence was up to par with her own, so she just had to offer her a position working in her lab. She was quick to accept the offer, and since then, the two have been excellent work partners. Clara really admires Izzy's intelligence, and is happy to have such an positive, unique, and very interesting figure in her life.
