About
Celeste is a blind shapeshifter made entirely out of magic. She cannot die, nor does she need any of the basic things humans need to survive -- but that isn't to say she doesn't indulge in sleeping, eating, or things like that. As a shapeshifter, she typically takes the form of a tall woman. She often looks otherworldly either way, but sometimes she dons a more realistic disguise. Either way, as someone who has a penchant for entertaining people, there's nothing stopping her from shapeshifting into people around her, animals, or anything else she thinks will get a smile out of people -- which is peculiar, considering that she has no idea what any of these things look like. Being the happy, upbeat person she is, she goes out of her way to spread her own joy, which makes her feel the need to be a bit of an entertainer. She can attract a crowd from a mile away, which is something she takes pride in.
Despite being the positive, entertaining person she is, Celeste doesn't make her living by entertaining people at all -- she's an underground protector of humanity. She and many other shapeshifters work "behind the scenes" to ensure that humanity is safe from monsters, but they never work alone. All humanity-protecting shapeshifters mentor a magical girl to show her the ropes of saving humanity as well. Celeste, like all other shapeshifters, work behind the scenes, but magical girls, like Celeste's pupil, Mary, take a more direct approach to protecting the world, so Celeste has to ensure that Mary knows what to do.

Past
Celeste was born through asexual reproduction into a clan of other shapeshifters with a strong connection to the stars. There are several different shapeshifter clans, all of which with different things they have strong connections to, but it just so happened that the one Celeste was born into just so happened to be linked to the stars. She was born into the world looking exactly as she does now -- this was her first form ever, and still is her favorite form to take on now. Even her personality has been relatively the same all her life -- she's always been an outgoing, upbeat entertainer. She's always doing whatever she can to bring smiles to people's faces, and will stop at nothing to bring joy to people.
She had always kept a watchful eye on a young girl from Germany, Mary, who was assigned to be Celeste's pupil from the minute she was born. She would always pull some earthly strings to make sure that Mary would be okay -- they couldn't actually meet until Mary was old enough to be a magical girl -- which was, in Mary's specific case, when she turned 18. A few days prior to Mary's 18th birthday, Celeste finally introduced herself to Mary and gave her the offer. Celeste had waited for this moment all her life, and was eager to have a student by her side.
Present
Since her initial meeting with Mary, Celeste has began to take a more active role in her life. She attended her high school graduation, helped her pack for university, and moved with her halfway across the world. She typically spends her time mentoring Mary, but when she isn't, she can often be found listening to music, reading, taking walks, or just entertaining people out on the street in her normal person disguise. People find her incredibly charming, which she takes pride in. She's just too fun-loving.
Celeste's story is being revamped, so all of this is subject to change!

Mary is Celeste's shy, soft-spoken student. and best friend. From Mary's childhood, Celeste has always kept a close eye on her and protected her from danger at a distance. She knew Mary was destined to be the magical girl that saved humanity, so she wanted to ensure her safety at all costs. Even if Mary wasn't a magical girl, Celeste still would have felt the urge to protect the girl. She finally made herself known to Mary just days before her 18th birthday, showing her the ropes of being a user of magic. Since then, the two have been good friends, with Celeste taking an almost mother-like role in Mary's life. Mary is grateful to have such an amazing, caring mentor, though there is one thing she finds embarrassing about Celeste. Celeste is very outgoing, unlike the shy Mary, which leads Celeste to (sometimes) unintentionally embarrass Mary while out in public. Celeste's motherliness doesn't just mean she's a warm and caring figure -- she also can't help but get a little bit of a kick out of (HARMLESSLY) embarrassing Mary from time to time. Celeste tries to tone it down to save Mary the embarrassment, but sometimes she just can't help herself!
