Valentine Harvey
About
Valentine is a happy, cheerful... wannabe cupid. She thinks she's the most amazing matchmaker in the world, in addition to being the most romantic person in the world. However, the truth is, she's a dorky hopeless romantic. The only actual success she's had with matchmaking is between her older sister, Dani, and Dani's wife Lola. Even her relationship with her own girlfriend was more of a product of chance, rather than her own self-inflicted matchmaking. Either way, despite her lack of success in her biggest hobby, Valentine does have really good social skills. She's sweet, courteous, and knows how to converse and get along with anybody. She's able to keep up with people with any sort of personality -- whether her conversational partner is slow and mild or fast-paced and excitable. Despite this, she tends to unintentionally cross boundaries when it comes to matchmaking -- sometimes she just doesn't understand that some people aren't interested in that sort of thing.
At school, Valentine is the picture-perfect student. She gets straight As, gets along with people, and is involved in many extracurricular activities. Outside of school, she occasionally visits the nature center her girlfriend volunteers at. She isn't necessarily a volunteer there, but she helps Alice with anything she needs help with.

Past
Valentine was born to a South African immigrant couple. Her parents had always wanted two children, and already had one daughter... but before they could have their second child, they had to move to America for work. After a few years of settling into America, they decided to have another child, and thus, Valentine was born. As a child, Valentine was a massive social butterfly. She never was shy or anything -- she would talk to everyone she met and consider them to be her friend. She was social in every sense of the word. This lasted through her pre-teen and early teen years, which she attributes to her relationship with her girlfriend. She was comfortable enough to just come up to her when they met at the mall, introduce herself, and from then on, they became friends.
Present
Now, Valentine is relatively the same person she had always been. She's happy, outgoing, and very social. However, there's just one thing she's picked up in her later teenage years: matchmaking. Considering her name and birthday, Valentine has always thought that she was destined to set people up on dates and help them start relationships. It... doesn't exactly work, but she thinks it does. Her sister is married, and she introduced her to her wife, so surely that means she's good at matchmaking, right?

Dani Harvey-Marino [ Older Sister ]
Valentine's beloved older sister. Dani and Valentine have a very tight sisterly bond... but are polar opposites, which sparks many typical sibling fights. They can bicker over almost anything, as many siblings do, but in the end, they love each other so much. Even as children, they had a very tight bond. Because of how social Valentine is, Dani would always do, and still always does whatever she could to protect her little sister. Even today, she looks out for Valentine as much as she can. Interestingly, Valentine is the reason why Dani is even married. Valentine had met Lola, and knew that she would be a perfect match for Dani, so she introduced the two. At their wedding, Valentine was the maid of honor, despite her young age, and she couldn't be happier.
Lola Marino-Harvey [ Older Sister in-law ]
Lola is Dani's wife, making her Valentine's older sister in-law. Valentine met Lola as she was catering breakfast at her school -- Lola is an alumna of the school Valentine attends, after all. Valentine was intrigued by Lola's unique clothing (and amazing cooking), so she decided to introduce herself. From then on, Valentine realized that Lola would be the perfect match for her older, single sister Dani. She would frequently do what she could to trick Dani into frequenting Lola's restaurant, which led to their eventual marriage. In all honesty, Lola is rather grateful to have someone as sweet as Valentine to be her sister in-law -- not just because she's the reason why she has a wife, though. Lola and Valentine have very similar, bubbly personalities, which makes them get along very well.
Alice Massey [ Girlfriend ]
Valentine's girlfriend of 3 years. The two met at the mall as middle schoolers and quickly became friends, both intrigued by the other's unique, though almost opposite senses of fashion. They exchanged phone numbers and social medias, and from there, they were fast friends. As time went on, they began to grow closer, and in the summer before their freshman year of high school, they decided to become girlfriends. Since then, their relationship has strengthened tenfold, as they continue to grow up together. The couple have picked up several new hobbies together, such as drawing and playing piano, but also have picked up the hobbies of their partner.
Valerie Rutherford [ Friend ]
Alice's adopted sister. Valerie is very shy, so Valentine does what she can to let Valerie know that she can feel safe around her. Even though she doesn't know what it's like to be shy, she still tries to be understanding toward Valerie's intense shyness. Valerie is grateful to have a patient, understanding friend.
Gabby Rutherford [ Friend...ish ]
Alice's adopted older sibling. Valentine can't wrap her head around how someone as social as Gabby isn't in a relationship, and has no idea that they're aroace... so she's ALWAYS trying to set Gabby up on dates. It's awkward and embarrassing for Gabby, but they can't be too angry at Valentine -- she's just too charming! Either way, Valentine really likes Gabby, even though they aren't exactly sure about how they feel about her.
