Barachiel is the guardian of the Chamber of God. He stands at the entrance and ensures that no curious souls disturb the Lord's peace. He also grants blessings to those who pray. Barachiel is very serious in nature, rarely ever smiling. He is very stoic, and only loosens up around his siblings and Elijah, whom he looked after as a child. Barachiel has a strange fondness for Elijah even now, millennia after he ceased to be Elijah's guardian.
When Elijah was a human child, he had no one to take care of him. Barachiel was tasked with keeping the boy alive long enough to become the prophet of God that he was destined to be. Although he rarely ever directly revealed himself, Barachiel was always closely watching as Elijah grew up, and he was there through all of the tough times that Elijah went through on Earth, to comfort and support him in the best way that he could. Now, Barachiel never strays from the entrance to God's chambers, although he sometimes wishes he could take a trip down to Earth to see his young ward again (because God knows Elijah isn't going to come to him).
Barachiel's relationship with Elijah is almost akin to a father and son, even though they look around the same age.
Michael is Barachiel's brother, and although the two don't talk anymore due to Michael's current circumstances, Barachiel is still loyal to him.
Barachiel guards God's chambers loyally, and sometimes keeps God company inside when God asks for him.
Barachiel is a large man with dark skin and golden hair styled in dreadlocks and tied back in a loose ponytail. He wears a gold and white angelic uniform, and his archangelic artifact is a white and gold rose that he keeps tucked behind his left ear, the stem curling around his neck like a snake. His deep black eyes reflect no light, and they glow with white crosses when he uses holy magic. He can hide his wings and halo to blend in with humans if he needs to.
