Terhan Setting Notes (C. Monsliagna)

Mashter-Potato

Profile

Description
With it's borders tucked snugly around the base of it's multiple mountain lines, Monsliagna's gorgeous gorges and many alps are popular with mountaineers and sightseers. Whereas the multitudes of different towns and cultures attract even more lines of tourism. However, due to the difficult terrain, the formations of any cities has been difficult, with only the capital city of Sommerstadt managing to achieve such classification.

Noteworthy Settlements

  • Caminus - One of the many towns dedicated to the gods throughout the world, and one of the larger towns of Monsliagna. Caminus and it's surrounding region are under the domain of Arbardri, the God of Change and Re-Creation. It should be noted that these parts have noticeably volatile weather and geography, but are rich with both earthly ores and magically-infused minerals.
    • While not directly tied to the town and it's occupants, one of many popular sights are the Caminus Pack Dogs. This large mountain-climbing breed of canine specialises in carrying bags and supplies along the difficult and cold terrain of Monsliagna, as well as providing warmth and comfort to those who require it.
  • Sommerstadt - As mentioned before, acting as the capital city of Monsliagna, as well as being largest settlement within the country. This successful size has been attributed to several plateaus of varying height and size known as the 'Sommerstadt Disks', though it is still debated if they were natural or the works of past ruling deities.
  • Shattered-Peak - The closest town to not one, but two of Monsliagna's neighbouring countries, Shattered-Peak has sometimes been referred to as the 'Scarred Mountain' thanks to it's positioning as a highly valued tactical position. Debris, relics, and more unfortunate finds from past wars are occasionally still rediscovered by curious tourists or lucky locals.

Noteworthy History

  • During both of the Great Wars, Monsliagna maintained efforts to remain a group of neutral, albeit incredibly defensive settlements. This had changed within the Second Great War, as the town of Shattered-Peak was pre-emptively attacked with an artillery barrage after an incorrect report of troop movements. Following this, the Combined Forces of Monsliagna (Otherwise known as the 'CFM') started an outraged campaign of counter-attacks, sabotage, and returning artillery that utilized the mountainous terrain to maximise their effective firing distance.

Noteworthy Fauna and Flora

  • Caminus Pack Dogs - While this breed of canine is not heavily tied to the town and it's occupants where the name originates, they are still a popular tourist sight. The Caminus Pack Dogs are a large mountain-climbing breed, specialising in carrying equipment and supplies along the difficult and cold terrain of Monsliagna. And luckily, their bulky fur provides warmth and comfort to those who require it within poor weather.
