Terhan Setting Notes (C.UWC3. Marcititila)

Mashter-Potato

Profile

Description
From the perfectly cultured wine of it's towns, to the coastal cities where fashion reigns bright, Marcititila is a prideful country that strives for perfection whenever possible, and if it cannot be perfect, then it must look perfect and faultless until it can become so. While it's culturally curious borders are respected with dignity for the past, it cannot be said that there wouldn't be attempts for tours and sightseeing to run immediately rampant if it means extra capital.

Marcititila is actually a Tsardom, currently lead by Tsarista ???.

[Themes; Rural Italian Villages and Urban American Cities]

Noteworthy Settlements

  • [Big City 1] - It should be noted that the official residence of the Tsarista and her family is present near the outskirts of [Big City 1], separated by a surrounding park and old fortifications that are still patrolled to this day by some of the finest examples of soldiers within Marcititila.
  • [Big City 2] -
  • [Bella Town] - A quiet little town known to be the home for many wealthy individuals wanting to leave the hustle and bustle of [Big City 1] or [Big City 2], nearly perfectly in-between as it evades the larger roads between. While the cost of housing is more then expensive, it should be noted that [Bella Town] is arguably one of the safest places to be with the amount of wealth found here paying for a frankly concerning amount of security. Not to mention the retired doctors and government officials of whom make up a good 20 to 40 percent of the consistent population.
  • Volaris - A fishing village situated on the small set of islands under Marcititila's ownership.

Noteworthy History

  • In the early 11th century, Bishop Alexi de Marra of The Court of Time departs from early [Big City 2] to live as a hermit, citing the increased development of the city as becoming unacceptable for any faith to tolerate staying. Although they were the only one to leave in this effort, there are many stories about just what Bishop Marra did during their hermithood. From their research of The Drifting, discovery of fauna and flora, and even apparently helping other historical and mythical heroes with their tasks. After their death, Bishop Marra granted Sainthood, becoming Saint Alexi de Marra as their discoveries were sorted and accepted by the Scholars Guild.

Noteworthy Fauna and Flora

  • St. Marra's Octopus - An adorable cephalopod that can be found throughout Marcititila's local Oceans, Rivers, and Lakes, the St. Marra's Octopus is a typically shy creature will grow to the size of whatever shell it has in the moment, always looking for new shells to become larger and thus more attractive to mates of a similarly large size. Although they are rarely seen eating and catching food, it has been noted the use of three feeding tentacles that rapidly grab and reel in significantly fish. Sometimes when these creatures reach a sufficient size, they are referred to as 'Cryptkeepers'. This is due to the occasional behaviour of a mating pair baiting flocks of seabirds into eating a floating carcass, before attacking the birds for the meat and skulls for their future or current offspring to eat and inhabit.
    • The largest recorded St. Marra's Octopus was "The Longline of Volaris", a local legend of the Island of Volaris after it's diet of sharks and habit of pushing fish towards the local fishermen. Longline's massive size is believed to have been caused by the skull of a long-dead dragon that it used as a protective shell, but was returned to the local waters after intense protests were held by the island's locals, citing that Longline was as much as the island's culture and people as they were.
    • One of many St. Marra's Octopi kept in captivity at the [Big City 1] Zoo, the popular "Canny", named after the metal can it refuses to leave, is currently the smartest known member of the species. An expert in all kinds of puzzles, Canny has exhibited a keen interest of moving food through mazes with sticks, copying human habits to get more food, and continuously escaping their tank to eat other fish from the neighbouring areas he really shouldn't be in.
