Terhan Setting Notes (C.UWC2. Krievystan)

Mashter-Potato

Profile

Description
The most northern part of the United Western Coalition, Krievystan is a hard-weathered series of frozen fields and flatlands with inches to feet of snow and ice wherever you look. While those who live and raised here are a hardy and little-tolerance folk, they value companionship more then most, as the person by your side will be your warmth and guide when snowstorms roll though.

Most jobs found within Krievystan are those who are willing to ranch horses, cattle, or whatever else they need above on the frozen surface. Or mining downwards into the mineral rich ground that most of the country is fortunate to have.

Noteworthy Settlements

  • [Capital] - A tightly packed and surprisingly warm city, [Capital] is the capital of Krievystan and has kept many traditions alive for generations. For example, within the middle of the city, a giant bonfire fuelled by tree-length logs, a relic that has only been extinguished thrice in it's over thousand years of existence even as it's purpose of warmth has diminished thanks to technology or magics.

Noteworthy History

  • The connection of life to these frozen lands may be hard to witness sometimes. But over ~30,000 years ago, it is believed that Krievy, believed to be a former god of life and beginnings, had fallen victim to a currently unknown fate. The uncontrollable energy released by the decay and consumption that followed is speculated to have created Anthromimesis in it's entirety. Events similar this are typically coined as 'Godfalls.'

Noteworthy Fauna and Flora

  • Idiomic Wolves - Sometimes known as 'Bastard Hounds' by locals and shepherds, these wild canines have formed an curiously symbiotic relationship with Sheep. Using their similar appearances to blend in with both wild and tended flocks, they are granted protection and warmth. In return, the Idiomic Wolves will protect the flock, typically killing creatures that would normally succeed in hunting the sheep. It should be noted that there are multiple reports every year of 'Rogue' Hounds attacking and in some cases killing the flock's caretakers and shepherds. However, it is known that tamed and 'Loyal' Hounds exist, being fed nicer and more specific meals in their service to the flock while also being trained just enough to ensure they remain healthy and willing to leave humans unharmed.
