After the paperwork was finalized and his new name was received they were on their way home. From the facility to their apartment was about a 45 minute drive but it was worth it she decided. In the car they chatted about music and what they would have for dinner that night. He asked about other children in the area and what their neighbors were like and Jane eagerly answered his questions to the best of her ability.
Jane pulled her Toyota into her usual parking spot at the apartment complex that would be Blake's new home. He followed her inside bag in hand and she led him to his room. "Now, Blake. This room right here, first door on the left is yours. Its closest to the bathroom and to the kitchen. My room is the last one on the very right back there so if for some reason you ever need me and I'm not out and about I'll probably be in there." She gave him a quick tour and sent him to his room to settle.
In his room, Blake stared out the window, staring at the tree that swayed back and forth in the wind. Was he really here right now or was this a dream? He had a name now. A mom? Purple eyes gazed around the room, a closet a nice bed with a comforter and a quilt. This place was different. It felt nice though, it felt homey. He unpacked his bag and started putting things away. In the closet though, he found something, a Bastille shirt! How neat! He didn't remember her saying that she liked them though, but from taking a peek on the back of it, it looked like Jane had gone of their concerts or something. God she was so lucky. The sheep peeked out of his room and looked around the corner not seeing her. He decided he'd keep this shirt and sleep in it probably so she wouldn't' see him out in it and if she did, he at least wouldn't be messing up the shirt or anything.
Before he knew it, the day was over and he had his dinner with Jane, he talked about the Academy and what it was like there and the previous building they were at called the Facility. She was eager to hear about both places but as soon as the clock hit 9pm she let out a yawn and stretched, standing up and grabbing their plates and walking them to sink to rinse them off. "Thank you for coming home with me Blake. Its so nice having a small friend again." She walked over to him and wrapped her arms around him. "This small apartment it a lot less lonely with you here now." He squeezed her back and nuzzled into her neck. "Thank you for bringing me here! I love it already."
When she tucked him in for the night, she caught glimpse of the shirt he was trying to hide under the blanket. "I see you found it. That was my late husband's shirt. You can keep it though, I don't listen to Bastille often enough to wear their merchandise."
Violet eyes lit up when she said he could keep the shirt. "Thank you so much!" He almost hopped up and out of bed when he hugged her. Today was quite the hugging day. Wish a kiss on his head and tucked in nice and warm, Jane walked out of the room, closing the door quietly behind her after saying her good night.
