October Prompts

Hyde attempts to learn who might have purchased a love potion from Kaoru’s shop. Kaoru firmly states he does not sell such things and attempts to help Hyde figure out where the love potions are being made. They find out a student is crafting them and selling them in Kaoru’s bottles to fend suspicion from them.

The doorbell chimes, making Kaoru look up from his mortar. “Welcome in!” He says sweetly to the customer at the door. “Oh! Hyde, it's a pleasure to see you again. I hope all is well! What can I do for you today? 

 Hyde smiles tersely. “Well Kaoru, I am afraid we may have a problem actually.” He walks up to the counter Kaoru is standing at.

Kaoru puts his mortar down, giving Hyde his full attention in concern. “Oh dear, what’s up?” 

Hyde places a handful of little vials and bottles on the counter. “I have found these in various places and from different people in the school. Would you know why that would be?”

Kaoru looks at the vials presented. “Well they are some of mine to be sure, but Hyde. You do know I sell potions here. And I do sell a lot to the students and staff of the school. So I would assume you would find some bottles that people haven’t returned to me to desummon. What seems to be the issue?” 

Hyde sighs. “It is not the bottles that are the problem. It is what was found inside them.”

Kaoru’s brow furrows. “What do you mean exactly? I have my license for everything I make and sell.”

“You can’t get a license for love potions Kaoru.” Was the curt response from the Lockette. 

Kaoru gasps. “You do not suggest I would be making something like that?” 

Hyde only answers with a look and Kaoru glares then snatches up a bottle and opens it, sniffing then tasting the contents. He glares at it then the counter. “What…” He asks in full confusion as the contents were indeed a rudimentary love potion. “Hyde. I really do not know how this came to be. I haven’t made love potions in decades. You don’t truly believe I would now?” 

Hyde shakes his head. “They have found no other explanations on campus so they have sent me here to investigate.”

The Night Carrier pushes his hair back in frustration. “I see. Well you can investigate anything you need to prove that I would not bring such things into this town.” Hyde nods and gets to work.
