The Dreamcatchers / Night Watch

Dreams are descendants of Morpheus - the great spirit, the first dream and the ruler of the realm of dreams. While spirits aren’t technically considered gods, they definitely share many qualities with them and could be considered gods. The world is inhabited by many different spirits which are sometimes also called astrals or primals. There are lions which are guardians, protectors of the world, granted a portion of the power of a spirit and shinshoku, lions who devote their lives to maintaining shrines dedicated to a specific astral. Very few have the ability to speak to the astral, but all work towards appeasing the spirit in hopes that it will help them and grant peace and happiness.

All lions know of the existence of primals. They do not need faith to believe in them, as their presence is confirmed by life, time and the changing seasons. The astrals do not seek followers, but most lions live in respect towards them.
