Imperial Dialect (standard)

Consonants: /p/ /b/ /t/ /d/ /k/ /g/ /ʔ/ /f/ /s/ /ʃ/ /x/ /h/ /m/ /n/ /ɲ/ /l/ /ɹ/ /r/ /j/

Vowels: /ɪ/ /i/ /ɛ/ /ɐ/ /u/ /o/ /ɑ/ /ɛʲ/ /ɐʲ/ /uʲ/ /oʲ/ /l̩/ /ɹ̩/ /ɾ̩/

Features:

  • Diphthongs only appear at the end of a word, and word-ending vowels that can diphthong always do
  • No voiced fricatives
  • /ɲ/ never comes at the end of a syllable
  • /ɑ/ never comes at the end of a syllable
  • (C)2(V)(C)2
  • If adding an affix makes the word structure (C)3+(V) then you drop the first consonant
  • The only exception to this rule is /sʔ(C)/
  • Doesn’t do syllabic nasals

Accent:

  • /v/ -> /f/
  • /z/ -> /s/
  • /ʋ/ -> /fj/
  • /æ/ -> /ɛ/
  • /ə/ -> /ɐ/
  • /ɔ/ -> /ɑ/
  • /m̩/ -> /ɛm/
  • /n̩/ -> /ɛn/
  • Drops first consonant in (C)3+ syllables
