a kindergarten teacher to many of fogmere’s adorable little critters. hazell is a soft-spoken person, though applies just the right amount of ruthless sternness to be able to keep large gaggles of children under her thumb. nothing too harsh, of course! she’d hate for any children to dislike her.
hazell comes from the large jungles of volucrit, where she was raised in an ant colony, and served as a nurse for the countless larvae. unlike bees, the ant colonies are much more peaceful. hazell here is an old friend of sergei, and took the young man in after he had fled his hive. while she had little to complain about in the colony, it was mostly her concern for sergei that led her to search for someplace different. this is how she found fogmere, and settled there together with her new friend. while financial aid in fogmere is nothing to sneeze at, she still lacked... purpose, in her life. the dense apartments of the immigration district certainly felt like home, but somwthing was missing...
and so, hazell became a kindergarten teacher! far from home, but not far from her original purpose, she’s now certainly settled comfortably. recently, though, her roommate sergei has been moving away more and more from her, as he discovered an old friend of his living in the city. her cozy little apartment now feels so lonely, she has no idea how to fill it. as a worker ant, she wasn’t particularly built for dating, but... she might just have to give it a try!
