Nine

Nine avoids everyone as much as possible as she doesn’t like social interactions because she usually finds people annoying. Unfortunately she needed a job, and the only one available was to work on a daycare. She hates kids and thinks they’re too loud for her taste, but needs to work. Though the feeling is mutual for most of the other kids. Not many of the kids, nor her co-workers, really like Nine that much either from the scary demeanor she puts on. She wouldn’t try to go out of her way to be genuinely or purposefully rude, she just gets annoyed easily, but they’re usually just mild.

Catchfire, with his naturally kind and extroverted personality, is one of the few kids who interacts with Nine, despite Nine not liking him any more than the other kids. Though there are rare times where she tends to like Catchfire’s company, but won’t show it.

Nine doesn’t like to show emotions such as getting flustered or even smiling- anything soft basically- since she finds that embarrassing considering what her usual expressions are. When she slips them up, people would often tease her with things like “oh so you do have other emotions”, making her more embarrassed and awkward. She also doesn’t like showing fear, as she thinks that makes her look weak. Nine tries to put up a brave and stoic face all the time.

ABILITY:

Nine has the ability to expand metal objects, but the more objects she expands, the harder the sizes are to control. Nine always wears her spiked tail collar and bracelet to have an easy access to metal objects when she needs to activate her power, and she finds the sharper ones better to use in combat.

Nine had a pretty decent life growing up. Her only issue is that she found kids around her age to be pretty annoying, so she didn’t interact with them much and mostly stayed home. Her parents tried to get her to go outside more often but she ignored their request. Her parents were okay to her, Nine just preferred not to interact with them because they couldn’t understand why she found other people so annoying. She couldn’t relate with them much so she never formed much of a bond with her parents.

Nine eventually left her home at 15 to try and isolate herself more. Living the life of a forest dweller sucked for her, so she had no choice but to find an actual job. Unfortunately for her, only a daycare was there to hire her at the time, and got used to the job and pay, so didn’t bother to look for another.

She never felt the need to snap at the kids despite finding them extremely loud and annoying, but she did distance herself from them and her other co-workers if possible. She just wanted to do her job with keeping an eye the kids and occasionally entertain them, then go home.
